HERE'S THE BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY....Takes just 1.5 minutes to read!!!! It makes sense and it's not slanted. Jew and non-Jew it doesn't matter. Thank You.

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 B.C.E. the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 C.E. lasted no more than 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

9. Arab and Jewish Refugees. In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.

13. The Arab - Israeli Conflict; The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

14. The P.L.O.'s Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them with weapons.

15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

16. The U.N. Record on Israel and the Arabs of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

7. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

18. The U.N was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

19. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

20. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

These are incredible times. We have to ask what our role should be. What will we tell our grandchildren we did when there was a turning point....to make a difference?

I indeed call the "other side's" story, spin.

There is no getting around certain facts. The saddest thing is, very few modern Jews are "Jewish" enough to know---and defend---what the Bible has promised them, and I'm a Christian and I even know that!

An Orthodox Jew I know once told me, "If I wasn't Jewish I'd be the biggest anti-Semite in the world," referring to the Jews' unwillingness to fight for their own territory.

Hang in there Israel ( I KNOW you will). Your rescue is coming (maybe soon). There is One who is always Faithful and True. It may not be long, now.

May God Bless the Jewish people and their friends, the people of the United States of America.

Whoever thinks for one second that we can gain protection by making treaties with arabs is a fool. This is no welfare pay check recreational pic nic. We are talking about puting Western lives in the hands of ARafat et al. Given how the lives of their women fare in the hands of their men, it is ludicrous today to still have a pro-Arab stance. I do not ask to be specificaly pro-ISrael, I ask to have the lucidity of being anti-ARab.

I don't care for their religion at all, but I will not accept our religion as the counterpoint argument. If our religion is the counterpoint argument, then there is no hope for anything less than a holy war. I would think they would have a point-by-point rebuttal ... or an irrational screed. I would just like to know what that is.

Why the articles posts some interesting tidbits, this one has me scratching my head.

Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

Wouldn't that depend on where the Muslim is standing. What if Israel is in the direct path of Mecca if you turn to face Mecca. Do they face the opposite direction so they face Mecca from the other side of the globe?

There is good reason why you did not know these facts and that reason is that very little of it is fact.

Hmm. 68% of 630,000 is 428,400. Does this mean Israeli soldiers kicked out the other 200,000+?

That's pretty damning, if true.

Yep, GuillermoX... that's the Islamic line all right. Wipe out all Jews and wipe out Israel and then they'll start working on the Christians, along with America. They give that "line" in the PA areas all the time. That's why the majority of the people (according to several polls taken) support the destruction of the World Trade buildings.

Where are you typing from... Afghanistan... (or the PA)...? You're sure doing a good job of "making the case" for getting rid of the terrorism which is inherent and built-into Islam. It's a defective, Satanic and evil religion. The more people like you talk like that, the more clear it becomes to all who have not been paying attention to it before.

I have done a little reading on the subject and it would appear the reason that Jordon and Syria do not absorb Palestinians into their population is due to radical Islam. When the British Empire divided up the area they practically created Jordon and put who they chose as King of it. Their hold on power is tenuous as the public is not particularly fond of them.

The King of Jordon faces two threats, the clerics of Islam that want to be rule over all the earth, and the general population that listen to these clerics. So it is to the royals advantange to keep the focus of these fanatics on a common enemy, Israel. If Israel were not there, the focus of these power grabbing clerics would be the royal family. So they have a tricky balancing act between making sure that Israel is around to hate, and giving the impression to the public that they wish for the destruction of Israel, yet not going so far as to actually have Israel destroyed.

Now they have created a monster they can't control, they have raised generation after generation of refugees that have been nursed on hatred and lies from birth. Arafat can't control them, the only ones that can control them is the Clerics, they are the head of the snake and nothing will be accomplished until something is done about them.

the other side of the story

the other side of the story is mainly that the Palestinians want "their" land back which they feel was stolen, and feel entitled to Jerusalem because of their holy sites there. The fallacy of these arguments is: the wars launched by the Arabs on Israel were intended to not only to take the Israeli's land but to kill a lot of them. When you lose several wars of aggression like this, common sense says: tough, you lose - now get lost or we will be forced to kill you. The holy site argument was answered in the article - Jerusalem and the temple mount were (historically verifiable) holy sites to the Jews 1,500 years before Islam claimed Mohammed ascended to heaven at that spot and built the al-asqa mosque there. What tolerance would the Arabs have for some new religion showing up and putting up a shrine in Mecca? The Arabs would waste no time in killing the infidels.

Nationhood and Jerusalem Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam...

Well, actually Israel never was truly a NATION, because they never followed the blueprint that Jehovah had given them. That is, they spent most of their time anciently, NOT calling on God and worshipping Him as they had been commanded, but in following after the gods of the Canaanites.

In fact, Israel proper was only a nation in the POLITICAL sense for a relatively short time; it split into TWO warring kingdoms, allied with other Gentile kingdoms in an effort each to overthrow the other.

Finally, as their wickedness and disobedience to the Lord progressed, they were destroyed and the inhabitants scattered to the four corners of the Earth.

Even today, "Israel" is simply a political construct, a socialist state among other socialist states in that region. The amount of religious influence on that state is miniscule; most of the Ashkenazic Jews continually fight against any attempts at religious entities to have any say in governing the country.

So, there's the real story in a nutshell. Nothing really to see here, folks, move along...
