Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Berkeley) is not an anti-war activist. She is an anti-American communist who supports America’s enemies and has actively collaborated with them in their war against America. continue...

I look forward to the day David Horowitz tells us what he really thinks and doesn't hold back.

KEEL HAULING WOULD BE TOO GOOD for the lot of them.

Perhaps a firing squad with poison darts from So America?

The same could be said about those in our government who trained and financed Bin Laden as well as those in our government who gave the anthrax cells to Iraq. Ironically, they're considered on our side.

At that particular time in history, they were in our camp against the Iranians, no?

Well, one thing I will say about Barbara Lee is that she voted the way our Conrgressmen are SUPPOSED to vote. They arent supposed to poll their consituents. They arent supposed to vote in a manner that they know will get them re-elected. They are supposed to vote their conscience what they think is in the best interest of their constituents. I don't agree with Barbara Lee at all and I find her politics to be so far to the left that she almost bumps into Horowitz, but for people to call her a 'traitor' because of the way she voted diminishes our great political system.

HUH?

We're a representative republic. She's SUPPOSED to poll her constituents. She's an EMPLOYEE! She works for THEM!

Yes, but sending Anthrax or any other biological weapon makes sense how?

Whatever was sent, was it for experimentation for medical use or a quantity of waponized germ?

No she is NOT supposed to poll her constituents. If that is the case, why bother having representatives in Congress?? We can just allow every bill come up by some clerk in the capitol building and then poll every congressional district in the country.

We send representatives to Washington to work for us and to vote on issues based on what they feel is in our best interests. We send them there and every two years (6 for Senators) we evaluate the job they did and decide whether or not to send them back. If we don't like what they did, we choose somebody else.

THAT is what a respresentative republic is all about. It's making decisions via opinion polls that kept Bill Clinton in office.

The fact that we sent it while Iraq was engaged in a war with Iran suggests that it was for weaponry. In any case, it was a mistake of gargantuan proportions and should never be repeated.

did you read the article? Horowitz is calling her a traitor because she was betraying our country by aiding the communist government of Grenada.

Yes I did read the article. I wasnt referring specifically to the article when I mentioned the references to 'traitor.' But rather what I have seen and read on television, the Internet and newspapers.

sakic, you are wrong. That the USA sometimes works with seedy characters to promote its policy (fighting soviets in afghanistan, eg), and that sometimes those characters turn against us, is in a WHOLE DIFFERENT BALLPARK than elected officials consorting with communists dictators to UNDERMINE THE POLICY of our country.

If you can't see the difference between these two types of events, I strongly urge you to enlist your close friends in explaining it to you so that you can GET IT.

So you "read the article", joined a discussion about the article, but chose to refer to something else, not the article, but something you've "read on television".

And the relevance to this discussion is what, exactly?

And you think I don't get it?

Just because you don't know what's going on doesn't mean it's not going on.

Scientists investigating the attacks say the bacteria used is similar to the 'Ames strain' of anthrax originally cultivated at Iowa State University in the 1950s and later given to labs throughout the world, including Iraq.

Actually, I read that article when it first appeared and also noticed those incriminating words. And if you are saying that there a multitude of idiotic programs going on in academia, I'm not arguing with you. Who knows what possessed these geniuses at Iowa State in the 1950s to mail a deadly bio agent around the world.

I do know when thing, your quest for Moral Equivalency is dead wrong. And you really should talk to your friends about it. I'm sure they'll set you straight.

Did we screw up by training Muslim fighters to resist the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan? Perhaps.

Are scientists working in US universities often total idiots? Undoubtedly.

Does that mean that 6,000 people deserved to die in NYC or that we in some way brought this on ourselves? Absolutely not. Repeat: Absolutely not.

If you don't understand why there is no Moral Equivalency here, again, I respectfully suggest that you speak to your close friends. I'm sure they'll set you straight.

And if you think a possibly misguided training program (set up to counter the Soviets at the height of the cold war) and an idiotic scientific exchange program (run by people who don't know sh1t from shinola about foreign policy) is the Moral Equivalent of a US Congressperson colluding with a communist dictator behind the back of the American people... then again, I say to you: ask your friends. They'll help you out on this one.
