I'm really SICK of hearing how the Republican Revolution has failed and all of its related defeatist crap.
I'm putting together a list of Freepers that hold public office, and those who want to run for office.
Please list here or freepmail me with the following info:
Your name
Party Affilition
Location (City/State)
Office Held (or office you want to run for)
Political composition of the body you are in (Conservatives run it, libs are a majority, etc.)
I have some ideas on what we can do, but I'd like to survey the landscape first.
TOPICS: Announcements; Politics/Elections

Unless Jim Robinson has Free Republic labelled as a PAC there might be a little trouble with the FEC if you organize a FR campaign of any kind here. If you really want to do this (and I think it would be a good idea, maybe even good enough to help) then you probably need to purchase a limited license to the software and set up your own server. If you purchase the license, Jim is off the hook since all he did was sell you his software. If he gives you the software, there may still be implications.
I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV. It might be a good idea to check out the election laws before you go further with this.
Shalom.

From what I understand, Orlando could really use you (RATs are using it as a stronghold).
What kind of help would you be looking for in order to run?

I'll defer to Jim (of course), but I have a private family foundation, so I understand the rules about a 501c(3). My simply asking who holds public office doesn't seem to me to be a violation of the rule.
Jim, et al?

I am planning to move to Sequim, WA in the near future and would consider running for city or county council. Need to move there first to get more info. I believe the area is one of the more conservative sections of Washington State.

Your name: the fabulous FAB
Party Affilition: I don't affiliate parties, I initiate them
Location (City/State): Anywhere USA
Office Held (or office you want to run for): Female Body Inspector
Political composition of the body you are in: The left side is kind of high most of the time, the right side is kinda not...if I weren't such a good poet, I would ryhme that last sentence with "pot".

The saddest thing about your juvenile post is that you'd probably get elected.

I can't decide if I am going to run for Mayor, Governor or Senator. When I do I'll let you know.

Are you "nut crushing" as we say here in the Northeast, or do you mean it?
To: francisandbeans
I'm done with f@*king around. I want to DO something.

My name is Kevin Sterner. I am an independent, but am considering changing my party affiliation to Republican, so that I can run for congress against Chaka Fattah next year. Fattah is the congressman for West Philadelphia; he is so entrenched that the Republicans didn't even field a candidate against him last time. What's holding me back is that I can't afford to quit (or even interfere with) my day job to run for a position I'm unlikely to win.
To: francisandbeans
I'd vote for the FAB FAB.

Shouldn't you be on your honeymoon? (btw, congrats!)

Enjoy yourself while you can.
You are only twelve years old once.

Female Body Inspector Someone once posted a list of laws still on the books, one of which made reference to "swimsuit inspector" in a Michigan town.
Anyway, I am formally announcing my candidacy for the office. I will decide who is permitted to wear a swimsuit, and how much material it may contain.
