An Indonesian militant has been jailed for 20 years for bombing the home of the Philippines' ambassador in Jakarta three years ago. The judge at the trial said that the man, Abdul Jabar, had conspired with others to blow up a car filled with explosives, killing two people. The ambassador was seriously injured. The Indonesian authorities have blamed the banned Jemaah Islamiah for the attack, which is said to have been in revenge for the oppression of Muslim separatists in the southern Philippines.

Tikrit is the hometown of Saddam, who was toppled on April 9 in a U.S.-led invasion, and was a powerbase for his iron-clad rule. Major Josslyn Aberle, spokeswoman for the U.S. 4th Infantry Division, said Mulhana Hamood Abdul Jabar was detained in the early hours of Sunday. Earlier, the commander of the division, Major General Raymond Odierno, said the man was Saddam's son-in-law but he did not name him....
