ReporterÂ’s innocent comments deemed racist by on-air killer By Marisa Schultz and Frank Rosario ROANOKE, Va. — The words are a part of everyday conversation — “swinging” by an address and going out in the “field.” But in the twisted mind of Virginia gunman Vester Lee Flanagan II, they were pure racism — and saying them became a death sentence for Alison Parker. The 24-year-old white reporter, who was murdered on live TV along with her cameraman, used the phrases as an intern at ÂWDBJ TV in Roanoke in 2012, according to an internal complaint filed by Flanagan, who was...

Vester Flanagan, a.k.a Bryce Williams When nine black people were murdered in June at a church in South Carolina, suspect Dylann Roof’s “manifesto” was widely publicized and analyzed immediately. Along with his racist rants, photos emerged of him with a Confederate flag, prompting scores of demands to remove the banner from public places, and even reruns of the Old South-themed TV series “Dukes of Hazzard” were canceled. Also, statues and other monuments to Southern Civil War-era leaders were targeted. So what’s been the impact of the 23-page manifesto delivered to ABC News by Vester Flanagan, a black man who...

The horrible murder of two local journalists in Roanoke, Virginia, has affected me more than I thought it would. Journalists are taught early on to compartmentalize. As a local TV reporter, I saw bodies from plane crashes and victims of mass murder. I covered natural disasters and witnessed the aftermath of cruelty to children and other inhumanities. The murders of 24-year-old Alison Parker and her 27-year-old cameraman, Adam Ward, by a deranged and disgruntled man whose shoulder chip was as big as a boulder took me back to my early days in the business. At Alison's age, I was working...

Flanagan sent ABC News a 23-page fax about two hours after the shooting, saying his attack was triggered by the June 17 mass shooting at a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, the network said. Nine people were killed, and a white man has been charged in that rampage. The network cited Flanagan as saying he had suffered racial discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying at work. He had been attacked by black men and white women, and for being a gay black man, he said.

Hours after the shooting deaths of two Roanoke reporters on live television, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe called for more gun control. […] “It goes back to what I’ve talked about for a long time,” McAuliffe said. “There are too many guns in the hands of people who should not have guns.” …

The liberal media has been fueling racial violence for years, publishing lies about Trayvon Martin, Hands Up Don't Shoot, the Baltimore riots, etc. It's only ironic that reporters are now the victims of the very monsters they helped to create. Alison Parker and Adam Ward were members of a fraternity that has been complicit in keeping our society honest. Maybe this double murder in Virginia of two unarmed white journalists by a black man with a gun is the wake up call they need to start doing their job and hold people accountable?

After carrying out the shocking on-air execution, Ward rented a car at the airport and then started driving east. Police finally cornered Flanigan just before noon,...
