For years, Black people have delivered our vote to Democrats. Many Democrats wouldn’t have won without our vote. Now some Black people, and other people of color, have become discouraged because no matter the votes we deliver, we are taken for granted. Once elected, many forget our efforts on their behalf. A Texas teen gave police a dramatic account of being abducted and gang raped by three black men earlier this month. On Tuesday, she told them it was all a hoax. On March 8, Breana Talbott, 18, entered a church bloody and wearing only a shirt, bra and underwear. She looked badly beaten. Some parents and students think the remarks were racist and incited racist activity among the students. Paul VI High School is predominantly white. George Fassitt, a successful mortgage broker and ordained minister, is attempting to become the first African-American Republican to sit on the Biloxi, Mississippi City Council. Mr. Fassitt, who is a conservative, is a business/economics graduate of the University of Kansas-Wesleyan, where he also played basketball, and has a masters in theology from Lighthouse Christian College. Would liberals support Social Security reform if they thought of it as reparations for blacks? The current Social Security system disadvantages blacks for reasons related to their historic mistreatment. Private accounts would go some way toward addressing this legacy of discrimination — as Democrats typically put it — but the supposed fiercest advocates of black interests are precisely the ones who will stand in the way. There is a direct correlation between economic status and average life span. This means that blacks, who are disproportionately poor, partly for historic reasons, tend to have shorter life spans, especially black males. The...

From Sthitch thread: WMAL in Washington just announced that a poll conducted for WMAR (Baltimore's ABC Channel 2) showed the President and Lurch tied at 48%. The shocker, is that the President has 21% amongst Maryland black voters. The poll is not yet on either station's web sites. ___________________________________________________________________ They reported Kerry has dropped 13 points since last poll. <p>I assume most people will say the leading cause of death in the African-American community is violent crime, cancer, AIDS or heart disease. The correct answer is abortion. The fact is that more African-American babies have been killed by abortion during the past 27 years than the total number of African-American deaths from all other causes combined.</p>

<p>Thompson, a retired entrepreneur from Plymouth. Thompson wants to put up to $300 million into urban education but is spurned by lawmakers and the entrenched education establishment.</p> <p>The rebuff is unconscionable in a city where failed schools have left some 47 percent of adults functionally illiterate and where the school system faces deficits. Thompson's money won't cure all the problems, of course. But there is no excuse for snubbing grass-roots help.</p>

I was informed today that my fifth-grader Granddaughter has an unusual homework assignment, in keeping with Black History Month...make a model of an Afro-American. Yep, they are to take modeling clay, or a similar medium, and make a "model" of an Afro-American. This opens a couple of questions: 1. If the model is not absolutely perfect, and one feature or another is not proportional, etc., will she be given a bad grade for "stereotyping"? 2. Will Black parents be brought in to file racism charges if the "models" are not perfect? And finally... 3. Will the class have an assignment...
