While this was happening, the federal government went off track. We have a massive debt load that our grandchildren and great-grandchildren can never hope to pay back. Moody's may upgrade state credit rating 8/5/2005, 6:52 a.m. CT The Associated Press MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A major credit rating agency, Moody's Investors Service, is reporting that the state's credit rating may soon get an upgrade. Moody's says one reason is the savings on public employees' health insurance that the governor and Legislature approved in November. State Finance Director Jim Main says the announcement is welcomed news because the Riley administration is looking at refinancing one old bond issue and is considering a new bond issue for school construction projects.

Judge Ray Moore, the central figure in the losing battle to keep the Ten Commandments posted at the Alabama State Courthouse, says he may run for Alabama governor. He also has some tough words to say about the two Supreme Court decisions on the posting of the Decalogue in public places. Appearing on Hannity and Colmes Monday, Moore said, "There is a lot of talk. I've been asked many times to run, and I am seriously considering it.
