Last week, I reported on the Supreme Court's Kelo vs City of New London decision, which seriously weakened Constitutionally guaranteed private property rights. Now, in what can only be viewed as an attempt at pure poetic justice, a budding developer, businessman Logan Darrow Clements, has begun the process of seizing Supreme Court Justice David Souter's homestead in Weare, New Hampshire and replacing it with a hotel. <p>In addition to the rallies at the State Capitol building, and the Civic Center, last weekend (3/30)there was also a support our troops rally at the Ewa end of Ala Moana Park from 10-12. There will be one this Saturday. This was the first time I've ever attended a rally/protest of any kind. It was soooo much fun, there was a DJ playing all kinds of patriotic music, and about 200-300 people attended. Hopefully the fun won't be spoiled this weekend by the "peace activists" who crashed the rally at the Civic center last weekend. Hope to see eveyone there!!!!</p>

The Federal Election Commission this month proposed rules that could exempt most charities from an advertising prohibition contained in the new campaign-finance law. The commission has asked charities and others (that means you FReepers) to submit their views on the proposals. The new law bars organizations from running ads that mention a candidate within the 60 days preceding an election.
