  • SJW's flee, good riddance

Interesting discussion on Slashdot. Apparently the bosses in charge at a project management company, Basecamp, decided that the never ending political “discussion” (aka ranting, proselytizing, whining, virtue signaling, harassment, etc.) on company time and across company assets (e.g., eMails, etc.) were too much. So, it is forbidden. Read the letter to employees. Surprisingly, the reaction at Slashdot (https://politics.slashdot.org/story/21/04/30/2114254/basecamp-sees-mass-employee-exodus-after-ceo-bans-political-discussions ) is almost 100% supportive. Many such topics bring out the SJWarriors, who seem to have been the problem at Basecamp. But, not this time. Instead, the condemnation of the SJW’s is in quite severe terms. Seems that there is a lot...

(CNN)Growing concern that top U.S. military leaders are increasingly being asked to comment on proposals by presidential candidates has led the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to draft a letter to all troops with one message: Stay out of politics. Gen. Joseph Dunford is expected to issue a note to all military forces as soon as this week. Dunford will "remind the troops of the need to remain apolitical in order to sustain Americans' trust and confidence in them," said the chairman's spokesman, Capt. Gregory Hicks. The U.S. military has a longstanding tradition of remaining out of politics...

Are We Being Too Hard On John Roberts? OpinionJuly 5th, 2012 Ken Connor   “Members of this court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments.  Those decisions are entrusted to our nation’s leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them.  It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.” -Chief Justice John Roberts in NFIB vs. Sebelius  Conservatives are apoplectic that John Roberts, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, sided with the liberal wing...
  • Petraeus Working to Keep Iraq Assessment Apolitical

WASHINGTON, July 30, 2007 – The top U.S. commander in Iraq today acknowledged high expectations for a September assessment of the situation in Iraq and said he would work to keep politics out of the process. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of Multinational Force Iraq, spoke to Diane Sawyer on ABC’s “Good Morning America” program from his headquarters in Baghdad. He said that every time he gets a question about the assessment, “I feel another rock going into the rucksack, which is reasonably heavy at this point.” Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan C. Crocker will offer a...
