Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry might have given Donald Trump a full-throated endorsement for president, but he is not so fond of the presumptive Republican nominee's plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border. In an exchange posted Monday with Snapchat’s Peter Hamby on the social network's political show, "Good Luck America," Perry shot down Trump's proposal. "I’m for Donald Trump, and he says we’re going to build a wall, the Mexicans are gonna pay for it," he said. Hamby then injected, "It’s not going to happen."

TEL AVIV – As the debate over Donald Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border continues to dominate the presidential race, Israel is reportedly planning to move ahead with a massive above and underground concrete barrier along the entire border with the Gaza Strip. The barrier was revealed on Thursday in a story splashed across the cover of Yedioth Aharonot, Israel’s largest daily newspaper. The story was published with the approval of the country’s defense ministry. Yedioth’s affiliated website, Ynetnews, has the details:

One of the fundamental questions facing Americans today is: Will our government ever secure our border? Judging by recent history, the answer would be: No. This is one place America must change. "We need a secure border to stop potential terrorists from entering the nation," House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul said last Thursday at an event sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations (and televised by CSPAN) at which Republican congressional leaders discussed their national security plans. The need to secure the border, of course, is obvious. It is also obvious that for years this nation's elected political leaders...

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela took a poison pen to the Republican presumptive presidential nominee, Donald Trump, in an open letter Monday morning. "Mr. Trump, you’re a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass," the Brownsville Democrat wrote in a lengthy missive to the real estate magnate.

Introduction: The provision of the Patriot Act, Section 326 - the "know your customer" provision, compelling financial institutions to demand identity documents before opening accounts or conducting financial transactions is a fundamental element of the outline below. That section authorized the executive branch to issue detailed regulations on the subject, found at 31 CFR 130.120-121. It's an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year. There are several ways to compel Mexico to pay for the wall including the following: On day 1...

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was not fazed by former Mexican president Vincente Fox's apology which was reported Wednesday afternoon. In an interview with Bill O'Reilly, he was asked what he thought about the former president. "Got any message for the former president of Mexico?" O'Reilly asked. "Yeah, get your money ready because you're going to pay for the wall," Trump said. "We'll get it straightened out."

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told a House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee Wednesday that cartels cut a hole in a 10-mile stretch of border that had been unmanned for two days and drove two vehicles through it. “Yesterday, I received an email from an agent in Arizona, and that email said that there was a 10-mile stretch for two days — and this is documented on the reports from the Border Patrol management — 10 mile stretch of border that was unmanned for two days,” Judd said. “Criminal cartels were able to go to the fence, cut...

Former Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Saturday joined his predecessor in office in unloading on Donald Trump, calling the Republican front-runner's campaign racist and saying his discourse on immigration is fueling anti-American sentiment around the world. Calderon, a conservative who was president of Mexico from 2006 to 2012, even said he thought Trump was trying to exploit the same social feelings and resentments as did Adolf Hitler. "I think his logic of exalting white supremacy isn't even acting against immigration - Donald Trump is the descendant of migrants - it is acting and speaking against immigrants who have a different...

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu toured on Tuesday the route of the fence being built along Israel's eastern border with Jordan. Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot and Southern District commander Eyal Zamir also participated in the tour along the route of the anticipated 30-kilometer fence. So far, five kilometers of the border fence have been erected. [...] The Prime Minister expressed his opinion that all of Israel should be surrounded by some sort of border fence. Donald Trump claims that Ted Cruz is copying his idea of building a border fence, but the reality may be the opposite. First, here's what Trump says:...But if we go back to May 9th, 2013, we find that Ted Cruz was not only speaking in favor of a border fence, he was pushing hard for it legislatively:...And what was Donald Trump talking about during this time? Not a border fence, that's for sure. Instead, just a few months earlier Trump was saying that Mitt Romney's self-deportation program was "mean spirited," further adding...In fact, as recently as June of 2015 Trump was still...

The European Union pressed African leaders on Wednesday to take back thousands of people who do not qualify for asylum, as overwhelmed Slovenia began building a razor-wire border fence to keep migrants at bay, raising tensions with neighboring Croatia. Sweden, struggling to manage the influx too, became the latest EU nation to announce the introduction of temporary border controls, as of Thursday. According to the International Organization for Migration, almost 800,000 people have entered Europe by sea this year. The EU predicts that three million more could arrive by 2017. ...

Egypt's pumping of salt water from the nearby Mediterranean into the tunnels is not only creating a mess as it rises to the surface. Palestinian officials say it is also contaminating water supplies as well as threatening to wreck farmland and spread disease. Local residents say that at the peak of the tunnel business, after Hamas Islamists seized the Gaza Strip in 2007 and Israel tightened a closure of its crossings into the enclave, nearly 2,500 underground passages snaked under the border with Egypt. The direction of traffic was mainly into Gaza. Commercial goods - and weapons smuggled in separate...

… While Trump and other GOP presidential candidates push for a giant wall between the United States and Mexico, San Diego is literally building a bridge. In December, an international group of developers, which includes real estate magnate Sam Zell, plans to open a pedestrian walkway that bypasses the regular U.S. border crossings and directly connects San Diego to Tijuana’s international airport. Meanwhile, all five members of San Diego’s congressional delegation, including stalwart Republican Reps. Darrell Issa and Duncan Hunter, have successfully advocated for the $500 million in additional funds needed to expand the main border crossing. And the city’s...
  • HUNGARIAN BORDER FENCE SO EFFECTIVE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE NOW AT PRE MIGRANT-CRISIS LEVELS

    10/30/2015 9:20:23 AM PDT · by Cubs Fan · 41 replies
The Hungarian border fence has been a remarkable success, according to new figures made public by Viktor Orban’s homeland security chief this week. The new border fences, which closed off Hungary from Serbia in September and continued around the border, finally cutting the country off from unwanted incursions from Croatia earlier this month have been so successful the number of illegal migrants has dropped off the charts. While last month up to 10,000 migrants a day illegally crossed into Hungary, now border controls have been fully implemented, that number has fallen to dozens per day. Dr. Gyorgy Bakondi, chief adviser...

Not that long ago, Austria's Nazi collaborationist party was accusing Hungary of being Nazis for the whole border security thing. Now Austria appears to have had enough and has caught fence fever. Austria on Wednesday said it plans to build a fence at its main crossing with Slovenia, the first such barrier between two members of Europe’s document-free travel area, in one of the clearest signs to date of how Europe’s migrant crisis is undermining Europe’s institutions and sowing discord across the bloc. News of the plan, aimed to slow the stream of migrants headed toward Germany via Austria,...

NASA posted a photo of the border between India and Pakistan as seen from outer space on Facebook on Sunday. The photo was taken by an astronaut on the International Space Station and shows the familiar outline of the north-western segment of India picked out in glowing lights. The astronaut who took the photo was "looking north across Pakistan's Indus River valley." The thread of orange that separates the two countries is lit by security lights that glow orange. The brightest spot visible is Karachi which faces the Arabian Sea. The Indus Valley is also dotted with lights. This is...

"Hungary is violating the human rights of refugees by blocking their access to a meaningful asylum procedure on its territory."Hungry’s parliament has authorised its army to shoot rubber bullets, pyrotechnical devices, (flashbangs), net guns and tear gas grenades at migrants. They say that the use of the so-called non-lethal weapons will help Hungary’s military handle the migrant crisis. As Hungary rushes to finish building a fence along its border with Croatia, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the police needed the army’s help to secure Hungary’s borders with Serbia and Croatia. “The migrants are not only banging on our doors...

In 2005 then-Governor of Arizona Janet Napolitano famously said that building a wall on the southern border of the United States to stem the flow of illegal immigration would be ineffective. “You show me a 50-foot wall and I’ll show you a 51-foot ladder at the border. That’s the way the border works,” she argued. That deep seeded focus on domestic security was apparently enough for President Obama to eventually appoint her as head of the Department of Homeland Security, overseeing the safety of the American people. An actual wall designed to keep unknown individuals and potential terrorists out of...
