  • Why Is Everyone So Scared of Disney?

    Variety ^ | July 14, 2019 | OWEN GLEIBERMAN
Like more or less everyone I know, I have no desire to see a single entertainment company take over the future, dominating what had been a movie industry of multiple entities, each one fighting for their slice of your attention span. Disney, the movie studio so powerful that it ate another movie studio, looks, to many, like it could be that company. The full impact of its absorption of 20th Century Fox has yet to be felt, but now that the smoke has cleared, the mega-corporation that was formed stands before us like an unprecedented colossus, looming over all other...

President Trump sent his first tweet a little more than half an hour into the Democratic presidential primary debate on Wednesday, and made clear what he thought of the proceeding. [cut] Trump stayed mostly quiet on Twitter during the first hour of the debate Wednesday, sending only the one-word message.
  • Politico: Beto O'Rourke 'Is Now Manufacturing Suspense'

Could Politico have already reached peak Beto and is now on the downward slope from the zenith? Despite their own senior media Jack Shafer back in October begging "Stop the Press Before It Profiles Beto O’Rourke Again," the paeans to failed senate candidate Beto O'Rourke have continued unabated at Politico. However, that might have changed on Saturday when Politico writer David Siders expressed how irked he was with their beloved Beto appearing to be playing games as to whether he would announce his candidacy for president that he wrote that he "is now manufacturing suspense."
  • Does Oklahoma stand a chance against Alabama? Here are 5 ways the Sooners can topple the Tide

Oklahoma has the Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback, the best young offensive mind in college football calling plays and a unit that led the nation with 49.5 points per game this season. They are the country’s most dangerous, explosive and exciting team. And according to the oddsmakers, experts and coaches familiar with both teams, the No. 4 Sooners are hopelessly overmatched against No. 1 Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinal. “Top to bottom,” said an opposing coach familiar with Alabama, “this is the best overall team that they’ve ever had.” That’s why Vegas has installed the Sooners as two-touchdown...
  • TIME Person of the Year 2018: From BTS to Michelle Obama, who will be on this year's cover?

Every year, TIME Magazine announces who it will name person of the year, the individual who done the most to influence global events "for better or for worse." But the TIME person of the year accolade actually started by accident. The final week of 1927 had been a series of slow news days, and editors were struggling to find someone to lead their Person of the Week feature. According to a letter to readers that appeared in the 1944 edition, “no one had done anything newsworthy enough to put his picture on TIME’s cover, so somebody suggested we stop looking...
  • Vanity - He/She (POTUS) that controls Judiciary, Executive & Senate, controls the country!!!

Sorry Democrats....but, in the reality, "Political" world of today, it is not the House Of Representatives that controls the country at all anymore. It is the "He or She" POTUS, that controls the Judiciary, the Executive and the Senate that controls the country, 100%. Thus the "He" is none other then POTUS, Donald J. Trump. POTUS, Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he favored securing the Senate over the House. The Senate controls the Judiciary and, in the world of our politics today, the Judiciary easily outweighs the diminished role of the House. The Democrat Party, "Nutcases" will...

The black binder tucked under Marshall Walters’s arm is more valuable than just about anything on LSU’s campus during this overcast Saturday in October. It looks no different than the binders used by college students before iPads and laptops became the note-taking standard, only this one houses important information to keep this place protected on one of the busiest days of the year: an LSU football home game. Walters is careful with the binder, unzipping its cover to give an inquiring mind the slightest peek at the contents inside: bundles of stacked papers. “This,” he gestures to the binder, “is...

I just zipped down a city street on an electric scooter. It cost me 15 cents a minute. Fast and fun! My scooter was just lying on the ground. I picked it up, activated it with my phone and rode away. When I was done, I simply abandoned it. Won't it be stolen? No, because you need an app to activate the scooter and a GPS device keeps track of it. My wife loves using the newish Citi Bike shared bicycles that are locked in a big dock near our apartment. They were a good innovation. But then entrepreneurs came...

'Krakatoa': The Wrath of the Earth By RICHARD ELLIS The cover of "Krakatoa" by Simon Winchester. When a volcano erupts, it can do terrible damage, as Vesuvius did in A.D. 79, burying the cities and inhabitants of Pompeii and Herculaneum. But as the tens of thousands of people now living on its slopes can attest, Vesuvius is still there, and so are most of the world's better-known volcanoes, such as Etna, Rainier, Kilauea, Paricutin and Fujiyama (yes, Fuji is a volcano; it last erupted in 1707). Even Mount St. Helens, the top of which blew off in 1980, is (mostly)...
  • Norman Lear To Reimagine ‘All In The Family’, ‘The Jeffersons’, ‘Good Times’ & ‘Maude’

Norman Lear continues to defy convention about career longevity and age. The TV icon, who today celebrates his 96th birthday, and his Act III production company have signed a two-year first look deal with Sony Pictures TV. The pact includes the option to re-imagine titles from Lear’s extensive library including All In The Family, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Maude and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, among others. “I couldn’t be prouder and more excited about joining Sony Pictures Television, who has the guts to go with a kid,” Lear quipped. Sony Pictures TV, which owns the Norman Lear library, has been...

The mayor's office said that each vehicle would carry up to 16 passengers and their luggage, and would depart from O'Hare and downtown Chicago as frequently as every 30 seconds, the Verge reported. It added that The Boring Company planned to charge fares cheaper than what the proposal required: that the premium service should cost less than current taxi and ride-share services.

By voting no on the Pompeo nomination the vote would have been rescheduled to 11PM when Isakson returned. It would have been a waste of time as Pompeo WILL be SOS. Something tells me the rest of the Rats were ok with it because who wants to work late? That Dr. Suess character from Va. was the only one up in November which he'll probably win. On to the Senate where hopefully toe Rand Pauls and Flakes won't play their games.

Both appear crude. Unlikable. Set in their ways. Trumps treatment of the press reminds me of the sideline photographers who's camera went all over the place when they got too close to the coach. The 10 year OSU movement to get Hayes fired from the university got it's wish in crash and burn fashion when he went on the field and slugged the Clemson player. Today's MSM are just like the movement on campus. They never acknowledge that the leaders they hate so much are winners.

The prime time program shuffle resulting from the Bill O'Reilly departure from Fox News Channel is seriously flawed, and will fail quickly with a massive loss of viewers of "The Five" slated for the 9:00PM time slot. The show is boring, with only one member of "The Five" worth her salt {KG), and, it is not Dana Perino, who is terrible. The three males are losers with little substance. Bob Beckel and Juan Williams are not dummies...but 100% empty suits!!! The winning line up would be: - Martha McCallum at 7:00PM - Tucker Carlson at 8:00PM - Jesse Watters at...
