Data released last week found that 62 percent of American men who self-reported being HIV-positive said they had unprotected anal sex with a male partner in the last 12 months. The Centers for Disease Control report, “HIV Testing and Risk Behaviors Among Gay, Bisexual and Other Men who have Sex with Men,” noted that the population of men having sex with men (MSM) is a small proportion of the US population; however, this group represents the majority of people diagnosed with HIV. The researchers found that some men attempt to decrease their HIV risk by only engaging in unprotected sex...

Federal health officials are reporting a sharp increase in unprotected sex among gay American men, a development that makes it harder to fight the AIDS epidemic. The same trend has recently been documented among gay men in Canada, Britain, the Netherlands, France and Australia, heightening concerns among public health officials worldwide. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of men who told federal health investigators that they had had unprotected anal sex in the last year rose nearly 20 percent from 2005 to 2011. In the 2011 survey, unprotected sex was more than twice as common...

Young boys in care were allegedly taken there in the Eighties to be abused by high-profile MPs and other powerful establishment figures. Mr Fay, who worked for the now-defunct National Association of Young People In Care, accused the Metropolitan Police of acting...

CNN’s Piers Morgan on Thursday said he believes most “decent, civilized” Americans share his view on the need for stricter gun control laws. Morgan stopped by CBS “This Morning” to discuss his show’s recent focus on gun control, as well as the connected petition to deport him from the country. The CNN host said the interviews he’s had recently with people such as Alex Jones — the gun advocate and creator of the “Deport Piers Morgan” petition — help keep the issue from fading from the public eye as has happened after past incidents of gun violence in the United...

CHICAGO (CBS) — Was the vandalism of 51 floats for the Gay Pride Parade this past weekend a hate crime? Police say they are not investigating it as such. But the parade organizer and the owner of the floats both said they believe it was. The Pride Parade went on as always in the Boystown neighborhood, with appearances by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Gov. Pat Quinn, among other dignitaries. Hundreds of thousands of people gathered along Halsted Street, Broadway and Diversey Parkway, high-fiving and embracing strangers and wishing them, “Happy pride!” But the tire-slashing put a damper on the event...

The blogosphere abhors a vacuum. So when the mainstream media (MSM) leave holes in a given narrative -- in this case, the biography of the president -- bloggers individually, incrementally, and indefatigably strive to fill in the blanks -- sometimes successfully, sometimes less so. In his comprehensive, 600-plus-page biography of Barack Obama titled The Bridge, New Yorker editor David Remnick lays down the baseline of what the mainstream media know about the president -- or at least what they want us to know.

A board member for Equality California has come out swinging at the Bible-based Capitol Resource Institute, which works on behalf of family and biblical values in California, especially among its lawmakers. In an extraordinary and prophetic newspaper column, Rockford's Bishop Thomas Doran tells us what God really thinks of "abortion, buggery, contraception, divorce, euthanasia, feminism of the radical type, and genetic experimentation and mutilation." Read on: Reaping the whirlwind of abortion I want to touch on this matter before we get too close to the November madness. As human beings, as citizens of a “first world country,” as Americans, and as Catholics, most importantly, we have to take count of the circumstances in which we live. LONDON– Scotland Yard is investigating Britain’s Gay Police Association (GPA) after receiving a complaint that a newspaper advertisement by the Association incites homosexuals to hate Christians.
