WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were attacked by a rabid fox at Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Monday, according to the Hampton-Peninsula Health District. Officials say the fox was captured and died shortly after the attack. Any guests with information regarding any exposure to this attack are asked to contact the Hampton-Peninsula Health District – Williamsburg Environmental Health Office at (757) 603-4277. Exposure includes a bite, scratch or contact with saliva by open wound or eyes, nose or mouth.

A man visiting Busch Gardens Tampa Bay was injured by celebratory gunfire on Wednesday. According to Tampa police, 36-year-old Scott Deel of Florahome, Florida was walking inside the theme park with his wife when he felt pain in his shoulder around 10 p.m. His wife then noticed he was bleeding. Investigators said the source of the pain was a bullet, most likely a result of celebratory gunfire from outside the park, but they are unsure where. it occurred around the same times fireworks were set off at Busch Gardens. WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- A transgender woman was denied access to Busch Gardens theme park in Williamsburg because a park security guard deemed her skirt a costume. Bria Gibson's girlfriend was born a male, but identifies as female. The couple went to the park on Saturday to enjoy the Halloween season's Howl-o-Scream event. But their day took a turn as soon as they reached the park's security gate. There, a security guard looked at her girlfriend, who was wearing an ankle length skirt, and began shaking his head, according to Gibson.

TAMPA - State wildlife officials Monday were investigating what led up to a lion biting off the arm of a zookeeper at Busch Gardens.Busch Gardens officials said the 350-pound, 12-year-old lion would not be destroyed and they are reviewing their own safety policies following the Sunday attack.The 21-year-old zookeeper was taking her parents, her boyfriend and his parents on a behind-the-scenes tour Sunday afternoon of the lion's sleeping quarters when the attack occurred.
