It would be over two days ago if the jury had been sequestered. Letting them go home just let’s them continue their quest for fame.
For some, this will be the most important event in their mundane lives.
Doncha know.

My Golden Retriever, Dakota loved to look out the passenger windows when I took him up in my Cherokee Dakota. I’m certain He knew he was flying and probably felt like an eagle.

I noticed you did not post that the 68XXX died in 1994.
I was visiting IBM’s Entry Systems design team at Boca Raton in the early 80s. They wanted the PC engine to be the 68XXX. But couldn’t get the delivery amount they were forecasting (250,000 first year)from Motorola.
The Intel salesman had told them they could get that kind of delivery immediately. Thus when they went with the x86 (8088 32 bit computer with 8 bit external bus). The 8 bit bus was designed by Intel to match the costs of interfacing external memory and I/O devices.
That forecast turned in to millions of chips in later years.
Marketing includes availability, you know.
Disclaimer: I made a 30 year career out of assisting customers with x86 designs until I retired in 2004.

It takes someone with tech smarts to understand and code the x86 protected mode segmented memory design. The 68xxx was not very sophisticated and could never compete with Intel’s chips and their marketing. You sound like a linear memory bigot.

>> “I get 1099 forms every year. I have a home office with a separate phone number, a business checking account, a state issued resale card, and liability insurance in the name of my DBA entity. I work for multiple clients.”
Problem is most clients will not be allowed to send you a 1099 if you don’t meet the contractor test.
But estimated taxes (quarterly)are voluntary. The actual money does not have to be paid until yearly income taxes are filed. Even though you may have to pay a penalty for not paying quarterly.
Yes. This is all about everyone being required to have a w2 which requires worker taxes be paid as withholding. The government wants it’s money as you are paid.
As opposed to 1099 which requires taxes to be settled only once a year as income tax.
The gov doesn’t trust you to settle up one a year.
My experience after prostate surgery; catheter inserted no pain. Had it in for a week and was pleasantly surprised that there was never any urge to pee. Also there was no pain and no leakage when it was removed. I loved my urology doc.
