Hi All! I was in the US the past two weeks (offline most of the time) so am just catching up on messages. I look forward to watching the Korea concert. Thanks again for the introduction to the Tokyo concert.
ALL FEMALE GUITAR NIGHT TOKYO VENUE
It was an amazing concert. Each artist played three solo numbers and then two of them together in different combinations with a conclusion of all three collaborating. First up was Kanaho, then Gabriella, and Sandra was last. All of them were incredible. Kanaho played Spring Rain, Flying in the Sky, and Memories. Gabriella played Tension, Dancing Queen (ABBA), and Classical Gas. Sandra played Memory Lane, Rest with Us, and Snowflower. Ill update about the songs they played together later.
From what I understand, the three of them met and practiced for the first time on March 1, one day before the March 2 concert. Kanaho described the green room as very lively. All three are very charming. Yes, the audience was enthralled.
It was Gabriellas first trip to Asia and Sandras first trip to Japan. The three continue on to Kyoto for a performance tomorrow and then go to Korea, China, and Taiwan.
The venue was fairly small, and Id estimate 150 to 200 in attendance. The audience was probably 70% male, and evidently there were other fairly well-known Japanese guitarists in attendance. I happened to sit next to one of them, which I realized only after someone came up to greet him.
It was a fabulous concert and I really appreciate hearing about it from P-Marlowe. Thank you so much. Would you please add me to your Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar Ping list? Ill try to attend other events in Tokyo and let you know whats going on here in the genre.
I am planning on attending the concert tonight, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to take/send photos or videos. I will send a concert report when I can.
