LEXINGTON, SC (WIS-TV) - A town of Lexington business owner says he's being forced to remove 10 flags he placed outside of his business to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. Bob Michaelis of Michaelis Mattress Company in Lexington says he was asked to remove the patriotic display because it violates a 1999 town ordinance. According to the town ordinance, only three flags that are not duplicates of each other can be displayed in "restricted and intense development districts." NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WIS TV) - The former North Charleston Police officer who was fired after photos of him in Confederate flag boxer shorts were posted on social media is filing a federal lawsuit against the city, claiming he was wrongfully terminated because of his race. NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Nuisance Wildlife Agency continued to search for a possible rabid squirrel that attacked some residents Tuesday afternoon in North Myrtle Beach. According to incident reports from the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety, law enforcement responded to a home on Causey Drive, where a woman said a squirrel attacked her while she was walking to her car. A man and woman were arrested Sunday morning after repeatedly calling 911 to report seeing people and opossums jumping out of their refrigerator and microwave at a house on Prince Street, according to investigative reports. Deputies said Brandon Terry and Casey Fowler gave them a mailbox number that didn’t exist, but deputies were able to track down the concerned couple at a home a few blocks away. Deputies immediately asked if the couple had taken any drugs.

Robuck, SC (FOX Carolina) - A 56-year-old Woodruff man was arrested after Spartanburg County deputies learned he stole steaks from a supermarket by concealing the meat in his colostomy bag, according to investigative reports. An unidentified black woman was about halfway up the more than 30-foot steel flagpole just after dawn Saturday when State Capitol police told her to come down. Shannon Williams said her daughter found the litter of kittens in the woods behind their home in Mount Pleasant.
