You are correct (along with a couple more reasons). My job/company has a similar policy for similar reasons. The policy is in place for a reason not just to add more pages to the employee handbook.
My personal opinion is if a company wants to open on Thanksgiving, then let them. Let the business owner decide when he wants to run his/her business, the consumer can chose to participate or not.
I won’t go there because I prefer to spend my time with the family and drinking. Well that, and the fact that I save my Christmas shopping until the 23rd or 24th of Decemeber.
Please do not compare this to the men that died in at the Alamo. Her actions are in no way, shape, or form anywhere near what those men sacrificed. Get a grip.
