PRINCETON, NJ -- Hispanics in the U.S. identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party over the Republican Party by about a 2-to-1 margin, regardless of whether they were U.S.-born. Hispanics born outside the U.S. do have slightly less attachment to either party, and are more likely to be politically independent, but these differences do little to alter the basic underlying advantage Democrats enjoy across the entire Hispanic population.

Members of Congress have been on recess for only a few days, but it already seems the time away from Washington means more support for a pathway to citizenship among some Republicans. In the past few days, two Republican members of the House of Representatives - Daniel Webster in Florida, Aaron Schock in Illinois - have expressed preliminary support for a way to legalize undocumented immigrants and allow them to eventually earn full citizenship. Even the House GOP whip, Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), announced support for legal status, although he stopped just short of supporting full citizenship. McCarthy, a big target...

Sen. Marco Rubio's immigration push might have hurt his chances of winning the GOP presidential nomination, Republican lawmakers say. [WATCH VIDEO] While it’s still a long way until 2016, a number of GOP lawmakers in the House and Senate say Rubio (R-Fla.) will have to repair his standing with the conservative base if he hopes to be his party's next candidate for president. “There's terrible disappointment with Marco Rubio specifically,” says Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), an opponent of the Senate immigration bill that Rubio helped write and pass. “I don't think it's going to help him anywhere.”

Fox News has learned that at least five CIA employees were forced to sign additional nondisclosure agreements this past spring in the wake of the Benghazi attack. These employees had already signed such agreements before the attack but were made to sign new agreements aimed at discouraging survivors from leaking their stories to the media or anyone else. CNN has also reported that dozens of people working for the CIA were in Benghazi on the night of the attack, and that employees are being intimidated into staying silent. CIA spokesman Dean Boyd pushed back on the claims in a written...

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) is accusing the Obama administration of a massive cover-up in the deadly Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attack, saying it was “dispersing” witnesses around the country and changing their names in an effort to hide the truth about what happened. In an interview Thursday with Fox News host Greta Van Susteren, Gowdy said the administration is "changing names, creating aliases" of U.S. agents who were in Benghazi on the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks.

The Federal Reserve will lose control of interest rates as the "great rotation" out of bonds into equities takes off in full force, according to one market watcher, who sees U.S. 10-year Treasury yields hitting 5-6 percent in the next 18-24 months. "It is our opinion that interest rates have begun their assent, that the Fed will eventually lose control of interest rates. The yield curve will first steepen and then will shift, moving rates significantly higher," said Mike Crofton, President and CEO, Philadelphia Trust Company told CNBC on Wednesday. "If the great rotation that everybody talks about out of...

CAVUTO: Wait. Wait. If Chris Christie were the Republican nominee, in 2016, would Mark Levin support him? LEVIN: I doubt it. CAVUTO: If Hillary Clinton were the Democratic nominee, would you sit the election out? LEVIN: I don't know, we'll see. I'm sick and tired -- Neil, this is the problem. Guys like me have been voting Republican our entire lives and were taken advantage of and the base is under attack now. One of your colleagues there, Karl Rove, has actually set up a PAC to attack the tea party in primaries and so forth. I've had enough. I'm...

On July 24, Fox & Friends named Diplomatic Security Agent David Ubben as the agent recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Facility from wounds sustained during the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Ubben was allegedly in the consulate along with the four Americans who died when the attacks took place. Ubben's name was mentioned frequently in the weeks right after Benghazi but then faded from the news as he and other Benghazi survivors were literally wiped from the records by the Obama administration.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The founder of bankrupt solar panel maker Solyndra will likely avoid criminal charges even if charges are brought against other former executives of the company, according to several people familiar with the investigation. Christian Gronet founded the company in 2005 and was its chief executive until 2010. Solyndra filed for bankruptcy protection in 2011 after receiving $528 million in federal loans. Its demise triggered a criminal probe into what Solyndra told federal authorities during the loan application process, along with intense criticism from Republican lawmakers who opposed the Obama Administration's efforts to support the green energy...

Contrary to popular perception, the Old West was much more peaceful than American cities are today. The real culture of violence on the frontier during the latter half of the nineteenth century sprang from the U.S. government’s policies toward the Plains Indians. The Not-So-Wild, Wild West. In a thorough review of the “West was violent” literature, Bruce Benson (1998) discovered that many historians simply assume that violence was pervasive—even more so than in modern-day America—and then theorize about its likely causes. In addition, some authors assume that the West was very violent and then assert, as Joe Franz does, that...

Business interests want to expand the supply of cheap labor. Republican leaders want a magic bullet that’ll supposedly start to make them competitive again with Latino voters. No one but no one wants the party’s biggest young Latino star to have his presidential hopes dashed before he’s even begun to run — except of course for the handful of jerks like me who think lying bald-faced to your constituents on a key issue to get elected is a dealbreaker. It’s time for the Republican establishment to say, “Thanks, Marco.” Fox News viewers in Florida will see a new commercial in...

The tech industry scored two major victories on immigration this week, but its toughest legislative battle on the issue lies ahead in the House The passage of the Senate’s immigration bill is the closest the tech industry has come in recent years to its primary goals of raising the H-1B visa cap and securing more green cards for highly skilled foreign workers. But tech companies, like other stakeholders pushing for immigration reform, are only at the 50-yard line. “We want to see the process move forward and this week it did, in a big way,” said Andy Halataei, director of...

Just to preface her post, a good point by DrewM: DrewM @DrewMTips How many ppl saying "cut Marco slack. Don't write him off in 16" would FREAK out if he became pro-choice & helped Dems loosen abortion laws? 2:41 PM - 28 Jun 2013 We all have our “red line” issues, as Drew says. Offhand, I can’t think of a single person I know privately or on Twitter who supports (or is indifferent to) the Gang of Eight bill and who also traditionally has treated border security as a “red line.” Everyone wants better border security and everybody thinks it’s...

On Sunday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin denounced the Senate's immigration bill in an exclusive opinion piece for Breitbart News. One week before that, though, Palin laid out a promise and a warning to her own party in a speech to the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference in Washington, D.C. She said Americans do not deserve the exceptional country its founding fathers left them if they do not keep faith with the working class. And she said that that faith would be lost if the the Gang of Eight's bill, passed by the Senate on Thursday, became law. Her words...

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has the most influence among conservative voters in Republican primaries, told Breitbart News on Tuesday that Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) should be primaried for their support of the Senate's immigration bill. “Conservatives are getting ready for the 2014 and 2016 primaries. We have long memories, and there will be consequences for those who break campaign promises and vote for this amnesty bill," Palin told Breitbart News. "Competition makes everyone work harder, be better, and be held accountable. This applies to politics, too. No one is ‘entitled’ to anything." She continued,...

In an interview on Gibson Radio today Sarah Palin said Marco Rubio has flipped and flopped on Immigration, and as a result if someone wanted to primary Rubio, fine by her. Same with Kelly Ayotte. She is not alone. Not a few people recall that Marco Rubio attacked Charlie Crist in 2010 for holding the exact same position Rubio holds today. In fact, you could say Rubio beat Crist for the Florida Senate seat on precisely that issue: Rubio opposed what he called Amnest (legalization without border security), and today he seems to support it.

Under the Gang of 8’s backroom immigration deal with Senators Schumer, Corker and Hoeven, formerly illegal immigrants who are amnestied will be eligible to work, but will not be eligible for ObamaCare. Employers who would be required to pay as much as a $3,000 penalty for most employees who receive an ObamaCare healthcare “exchange” subsidy, would not have to pay the penalty if they hire amnestied immigrants. Consequently, employers would have a significant incentive to hire or retain amnestied immigrants, rather than current citizens, including those who have recently achieved citizenship via the current naturalization process. The issue is really...

Sarah Palin @SarahPalinUSA: Politicians wonder why we can't trust them? Campaign flip-flops like this and carve-out bribes in the Amnesty... http://fb.me/2IsL1uspC Palin’s tweet links to a story from TownHall.com detailing Sen. Marco Rubio’s (D-Fla.) flip-flop over amnesty for illegal immigrants. During a debate with opponents Rep. Kendrick Meek and Gov. Charlie Crist, candidate Rubio argued that giving illegal immigrants an “earned path to citizenship,” which Crist, Sen. John McCain and former President George W. Bush had advocated, is basically amnesty. Rubio, who won that 2010 election, is now the leading Republican in the U.S. Congress pushing for illegal aliens to...

WASHINGTON — CIA operatives and U.S. special operations troops have been secretly training Syrian rebels with anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons since late last year, months before President Obama approved plans to begin directly arming them, according to U.S. officials and rebel commanders. The covert U.S. training at bases in Jordan and Turkey, along with Obama’s decision this month to supply arms and ammunition to the rebels, have raised hopes among the beleaguered opposition that Washington ultimately will provide heavier weapons as well. So far, the rebels say they lack the weapons they need to regain the offensive in Syria’s bitter...

On U.S. military intervention in Syria's civil war, where "both sides are slaughtering each other as they scream over an arbitrary red line 'Allahu akbar' ... I say let Allah sort it out." So said Sarah Palin to the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference. And, as is not infrequently the case, she nailed it. Hours later, Gideon Rachman of the Financial Times, at length, echoed Palin: "Those who are urging the US to get more deeply involved in the Syrian conflict now are living in the past." Four fundamental changes make it "no longer realistic, or even desirable, for the...
