Trump rallies never cease to amaze. This morning at a Trump rally in Ashburn, VA, a young boy about 10 years old stood up and shouted, "Take the bitch down!" He of course was referring to Hillary Clinton. His mother, Pam Kohler, defended her son. "I think he has a right to speak what he wants to," she told reporters. According to Los Angeles Times: Asked where he learned to speak that way, she answered, "Democratic schools."

President Obama on Tuesday in his strongest comments yet on Donald Trump said that the Republican nominee is "unfit" to be president, and is "woefully unprepared to do the job." Speaking from the White House, Obama posed the question to the Republican Party: "If you are repeatedly having to say what Trump says is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?" The president's remarks come amid a disastrous week for Trump following his recent comments about Khizr and Ghazala Khan

Responding to Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee's complaints about the debate schedule, the Commission on Presidential Debates on Sunday said the schedule is set. In order to select the best nights for the 2016 debates, the CPD started working more than 18 months ago to identify religious and federal holidays, baseball league playoff games, NFL games, and other events. Donald Trump and RNC officials have complained that two of the three scheduled presidential and one vice-presidential debates overlap with NFL games.

International human rights activists are complaining that new laws have introduced forced labour in Venezuela. "A new decree establishing that any employee in Venezuela can be effectively made to work in the country's fields as a way to fight the current food crisis is unlawful and effectively amounts to forced labor," Amnesty International said in a statement released on Thursday. President Nicolás Maduro signed a decree at the end of last week that gives powers to the labor ministry to order "all workers from the public and private sector with enough physical capabilities and technical know-how" to join a government...

The fly bait companies opposed that solution, however, and instead reached a compromise with EPA in April 2015. By early 2017, the agreement calls for the companies to stop distributing methomyl fly baits to general retailers such as hardware stores, and to stop making small containers. Farm supply stores will still be able to sell larger 4.5- and 18-kilogram containers, which will come with new warning labels and explanatory pamphlets. The companies and EPA plan to monitor reports of misuse through 2020, and further restrict use to licensed applicators if incidents aren’t “significantly reduced.” The maker of one of the...

Beck, who had previously gushed about L.P. presidential candidate and eventual runner-up Austin Petersen, replied: "I'm probably going to vote for Gary Johnson," though "I haven't made my final decision yet."

California’s largest public pension fund made a return of less than 1% in its most recent fiscal year, the fund’s worst performance since 2009. The California Public Employees’ Retirement System said Monday that its rate of return for the year ended June 30 was just 0.61%. What’s more, Ted Eliopoulos, the pension fund’s chief investment officer, said the poor year has pushed CalPERS’ long-term returns below expected levels. “We have some challenges to confront,” Eliopoulos said during a conference call. “We’re moving into a much more challenging, low-return environment.” CalPERS assumes that, in the long-term, it will earn investment returns...

"I am convinced that they [Islamic State-backed terrorists] will evolve to the stage of car bombs and explosive devices, that through this they will ramp up their capabilities.” – Patrick Calvar, head of DGSI, France’s domestic security agency, on May 24, 2016. The forecast of the security chief with more than two decades of experience, shared at a closed-door hearing of the French parliament has come true two months later, with deadly results on July 14, 2016. The French media that carried Calvar’s grim warnings on the future of the Islamic terror threat, quoted him as saying: “We are in...

Congressional Democrats introduced legislation Tuesday to crackdown on children's access to "military-style weapons" in an effort to prevent accidental gun deaths. The proposal — from Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) — would ban people younger than 16 from having or firing a machine gun or assault weapon. “The small hands of children and big power of machine guns are a deadly combination,” Markey said in a statement. “Assault weapons are weapons of war and should not be allowed in the hands of children." The ban would include blocking kids from firing the guns at a gun...

The House Freedom Caucus, the chamber’s conservative bloc, will file a privileged motion to force a floor vote on whether to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen for his failure to cooperate with congressional oversight of his agency. “There’s a belief across this country that there are two standards: one for the powerful and politically-connected and another for ordinary citizens. The IRS Commissioner – the head of one of the most powerful government agencies – was able to get away with behavior no ordinary American could,” the statement said. “It’s long past time for Commissioner Koskinen to be held accountable for...

Rather than governing as a conservative, he has governed as a Republican. That’s not because he has to constantly compromise with a strong opposition. In this, Pence’s first year as governor, Republicans even have supermajority control and can do essentially anything they want. Daniels had to negotiate with Democrats. They even walked out on him and precluded state business when they were in the minority, and he stood firm like Wisconsin’s Gov. Scott Walker. But Pence is proving to be no Daniels. Instead of showing how conservatives can cut bureaucracy and expand liberty when given the berth—and certainly Democrats take...

ESPN fired Curt Schilling for giving his political opinion. The Worldwide Leader in Hypocrisy begged LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony to give theirs. One could say the tuxedoed quartet of All-Stars hijacked the ESPYs with a political harangue Wednesday night. But that would misunderstand a political advertisement as a purely sports show. As last year’s Caitlyn Jenner infomercial about transgenderism showed, the ESPYs airs as ideological indoctrination cross-dressing as sports awards show. And after James, Wade, Paul, and Anthony said their piece, the ESPYs provided a cameo role to Joe Biden and featured a grieving mom...

American NBC media executive Jeff Shell has been denied entry into Russia, The New York Times reported Wednesday. He was then escorted onto a flight to Amsterdam after being forced to sign a document stating he was barred from entering Russia. As well as heading NBC Universal's motion picture unit, Shell also serves as the chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, an American governmental agency which supervises the Voice of America and Radio Free Europe media outlets. Shell told...

A massive makeshift refugee camp has been established in Lake Como, the popular and secluded celebrity hideaway in Italy where Hollywood A-lister George Clooney keeps a home. Flimsy dwellings, clothes and trash are scattered around the Northern Italian town’s railway station, where dozens of new families and refugees have flocked. The migrant camp is, oddly enough, just steps away from the front door of immigration activists’ George and Amal Clooney’s multi-million dollar lakeside mansion in Lake Como, according to the Daily Mail.
