My Own Opinion on the Energy Crisis Dogging California by: Kathy S. Frankforter (native born and raised here in California) California is their own worse enemy and have no one else to blame for the mess they are in now, but themselves. It all comes down to the "extreme" California Environmental wackos who have continually blocked oil drilling and new power plants for the past decade. According to press reports, Governor Davis has been well aware of the current mess we are in, but chose to turn the other way.
