  • Trial set for Dan Slick [re: murder of Evelyn Miller, 5, in Iowa, July 2005]

okay now, Can someone explain to me why Randy Patrie hasn't been charged with anything? Casey charged and sentenced for child porn. Dan Slick charged with lying to authorities. What? only Dan lied? Was Randy honest about everything? What about unrelated charges like drugs.

Randy Patrie just reported this morning to police that his car has been stolen. This is the same car he was driving the night Evelyn disappeared. I find it odd that the car would vanish now. Also this is a small town where car theft is practically unheard of.

"I go back to the room, pick up the phone, call his doctor and get a prescription for a shot of whiskey a day and a beer on Sunday.

When he died at 99 I made sure there was a bottle of JD in his pocket. I still feel guilty; if I'd withheld the whiskey he'd probably have lived to be ...99 1/2."

Great post!! I work in two nursing homes. Out of the 150 residents that I work with only 9 are smokers. We take them outside to smoke only as time allows. I beleive that at 80+ years of age they should be allowed to enjoy life pretty much as they see fit. I also think that diabetics should be allowed sweets if they so choose what the H*ll is it gonna hurt. Not that the home allows the diabetics to have sweets I just think they should. We have happy hour once a week where residents can consume alcohol. We also have residents who have a beer or glass of wine everyday. These people have seen enough heartache in their lives why not let live out their last years smoking if they want?
Side note....NO ONE is allowed to smoke with their oxygen on...EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

"I'm increasingly inclined to think thatJMK was arrested not because authorities think he did the deed, but because his knowledge of specific information that was never made public makes them want to know where he got it"

There you go! That is the best reason I have heard since this all started!! It is obvious to me that this guy didn't kill Jonbenet but there has to a good reason why authorities would take the time to get this guy back here to the U.S.
CBS news tonight said that Karr knew some facts about the house that weren't make public such as details about a unique staircase and some other things. The authorities probably want to know who told him. Could have easily been the professor who has been emailing Karr for 4 years.
By the way that professor was a news reporter for a major network at the time of the murder.

I live in small town Iowa and a year ago a 6 year old girl was kidnapped, raped and murdered(no arrest has been made) only a mile from my home. Where is all the media attention for her?

I just read that the guy "confessed" to drugging jonbenet and then having sex with her killing her accidently.

According to CNN no drug were found in her body and the sexual assault was "minor"(how any assault on a 6-year-old can be minor i'll never know) with her vagina only showing a few abrasions. I think this guy is just confessing for attention. I would love it if this case was finaly solved and justice served but alas I do not think this sicko did it.

definitely!! Casey is on the top of a lot lists. You cannot have that much child porn and not be a pedophile. A majority of the pics were of children under the age of 12.

I am not too excited about this because, Randy said much earlier that he had lied about being at home. Randy said that he had gone to Porkey's but didnt admit it earlier because he violated his parole by going to the home of a known felon(to buy drugs). Porkey is a guy named rick and he lives out by Rudd. The police had already checked that lead out. I so want Evelyn's killer found but alas, I think this arrest is just a way for the police to show that they are still working hard on the anniversary of this awful event.

I live in Iowa where really REALLY good highschool kids have been removed from the prom court and forbidden to play baseball just because a year old photo surfaced of them holding beer cans. If just a year old photo can change so much than just the fact that the lacrosse team team had a druken party with a stripper should ruin these college students. And NO means NO means NO! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO OR WHAT A PERSON HAS DONE IN THE PAST! If the stripper said NO the guys should have backed off.

When I first married I gladly took my husband's name. when I was to marry for second time I told my husband -to -be that i wouldn't take his name because I didnt want to have a different last name than my children by my first husband. The second man left real fast saying, " if you aren't taking my name then you aren't really taking me"

Is this ironic or what...I am watching a 6 month-old baby tonight. He is precious and gorgeous. His mom told me when she brought him over that she was pregnant again and went for abortion, She fears that the abortion "failed" She still shows positive on a pregnancy test and the abortion center wants her back there ASAP. She said, " If the child survived it is seriously deformed and I've got to get it out of me"!!!! makes me ill.

"The hospital did not properly perform the abortion. If they are going to look at abortion as just another medical procedure, then they should expect to get sued when they botch one up, just like they would with any other medical procedure."

I spoke with a coworker who had an abortion so I know this is correct...When you go for an abortion first you must watch films describing the procedure and you must sign papers acknowledging the abortion fails 25% of the time so you must be ready to accept the fact that you might very well still be pregnant after the abortion...there are no guarantees!!

It was a long time ago but a girl about 17-years-old came to our church to tell her story about being the result of a failed abortion.
The beautiful girl had cerebral palsey and had been adopted at birth but only after her biological mother had tried to have her killed at 4 months gestation.
I cannot understand the woman in this news story at all. yes her abortion failed but why does she think she was forced into anything? She had other options!!
That poor little girl will suffer at the hands of this woman!! She needs removed from this home right now!!

"Somehow, I don't think that the students who participate in after school activities are the ones using drugs"

EXACTLY!! Study after study shows that children involved with afterschool programs are much less likly to use drugs.
At our school any student caught using alcohol, drugs or even tobacco, in or out of school is removed from the team.
