Former Nevada Senate Majority Leader Kelvin Atkinson was sentenced Thursday to 27 months in prison for misusing campaign funds. He must surrender by Oct. 18. Atkinson, 50, became the first black LGBTQ state Senate majority leader in the nation this year, but he was forced to resign barely one month after the 2019 Legislature convened. He pleaded guilty the following week, on March 11, to a federal wire fraud charge, admitting to misusing some $250,000 in campaign funds.

Iran’s Al-Alam television network cited local sources in Oman as saying that two successive explosions were heard in the Sea of Oman on Thursday morning. The sources said the blasts were caused by “attacks” on the tankers, according to the report. Just curious if anyone has a good answer as to how long to keep tax records (and supporting documents) for a deceased parent. Even my accountant doesn't really have an exact answer... lots of "well, if she was suspected of tax fraud then longer...". My MIL died in 2011. An active shooter has been firing a gun from a boat toward the Bainbridge Island shoreline late Saturday, near Eagle Harbor. People are advised to avoid the shoreline area. There has been an interesting situation going on lately, and its a little bit alarming. Hospitals have been experiencing cases of "Candida Auris", which is a fungal infection. If the fungus gets into the blood it is potentially fatal.
