These Reporters ignore the REAL TORTURE endured by their Colleagues, Cuban Journalists in Jails. Why?... Their leftist bias & agenda blind them to the truth. They do not report, just print propaganda.
Cubans opposing the totalitarian regime do not have 3 square meals a day, sanitary conditions and medical attention as do terrorists in Guantanamo; with the difference that these Cubans are not criminals; they're incarcerated for just expressing their ideas against the regime.
Are these the kind of reporting that we are to expect from so-called journalists? They are phonies.
Please write to them with facts & to make them aware of the cowardice of their actions, compared to that of those that saw the Jews taken away and did NOTHING.
What hypocrisy!!!... HOW CAN THEY SPEAK OF HUMAN RIGHTS WHEN ALL THEY DEMONSTRATE IS NEGLECT AND APATHY?

Senator Dodd and human rights

Senator Dodd was elected four times because the Republican Party leaders in Connecticut who hand pick challengers while contributing money to Dodd's campaign have made sure at the cost of abuse of power, corruption and the disintegration of democracy, that no serious candidate would be allowed to challenge Dodd.
You insult humanity and common decency by using the words Senator Dodd and human rights in the same sentence.
The man goes off fishing with Castro while children from Kenya are being taken by force to Cuba by Castro's slave drivers, while teachers' unions are not allowed to exist in Cuba, and young people, journalists and intellectuals suffer in Cuban jails far away from the luxury hotels where the Senator sells himself to one of the worst violators of human rights in the history of humanity.
This is a man who has used the sacred podium of the US Senate to defend a human rights violator. How could you?
You exercise nothing less than the prostitution of the written word.

Thomas Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, stated the following:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. We know the rest of that chapter of history.
Malicious manipulators of our society and nation have attempted to deny access to the facts in many cases relevant to our welfare, and that of the United States of America and the world at large. They attempt to demonstrate that bad is good, that good is bad, or that right is wrong, and wrong right. They support the strong and crush the weak. And they twist the meaning of the law to meet their own ends.
To advocate such things today as those called for by Jefferson might be called treasonous by these same manipulators, who naturally wish to suppress dissent among those whose conscience demands that they not tolerate the corrupt practices of those who degrade American society. They are far from treasonous, however. They are humanistic, patriotic, and necessary to the continued survival, stability, and prosperity of civilization.
Not only the Declaration of Independence but also the United States Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognize the sanctity of human life, which is confirmed by other bodies of law, codes of ethics, and religious tenets, as well as the opinions of even many of the atheists among us.
That too many have strayed from this respect for life is not something we are bound to tolerate. The United States was founded on principles, such as respect for the sanctity of life, that justified the American Revolution. If our principal leaders have decided to revise their own values system, relegating human life to an inferior standing, the time has come to reform our system of government to make our representatives more directly responsible to us; the establishment of law more susceptible to the will of citizens in good standing; and the assignment of blame for criminal acts more applicable to those who govern us, which is not now the case. We cannot afford to do less.

THE SLIPPERY SLOPE OF EUTHANASIA * Precedent in which society judges an individual by his/her perceived utility.

According to Bobby Schindler, pro-life groups call Terri's legal battle the "Roe v. Wade of euthanasia." Experts on the legality and ethics of euthanasia agree.

According to Pete Vere, a canon lawyer in Ontario, Canada, who specializes in the rights of the mentally and cognitively disabled:

"Not only is the state sanctioning involuntary euthanasia, but this sets an awful precedent in which society judges an individual by his or her perceived utility."

FROM MODERATOR:
Ms Stewart was not convicted for defrauding shareholders or insider trading. She was not charged for these crimes, as there was no basis for them. Ms Stewart was convicted for lying to authorities on something that is not a crime. So where is the crime? Lying? Convicted for the crime of lying! Now, that is a first in our very blemished justice system.

And for that, you are labeled a felon and go to jail?

This weasel just was slapped on the hand with a $2,000. fine for lying to authorities. This liar was instrumental in convicting Ms Stewart.

Something is very wrong in this society filled with envy and greed. Something is very wrong with our justice system when an investigation and a trial can be manipulated to someone's advantage.

Justice is not blind anymore. It is for sale and political advantage.

This is an outrage, a witch-hunt. Going after an entrepreneur that has contributed to the community and to the national economy, just because this entrepreneur is aggressive, resourceful, creative and speaks frankly.

Aren’t these the qualities that we look for in most successful CEO's?

Oh... but this entrepreneur is a woman... That changes everything…

She should be humble, cry a lot, depend on a man for good ideas, and apologize for bad behavior. At least, that is what some reporters say she should have done to avoid being convicted. Imagine that, a little woman can get sympathy from our courts, but not someone with guts!

Sorry, we just don't buy this idea of a woman's role in the closed minds of many in powerful positions today.

In my fight against communism, I, a married woman and a mother, had to work every day with a rifle pointing at me until I came to United States.

Conviction should be reversed!

TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE ONE RIGHT.
No self-respecting Cuban is going to vote for a socialist.
Votes should not be taken for granted, either.

The Cuban exiled community has received NOTHING BUT BROKEN PROMISES from President Bush. Counting on our vote, again, is somewhat presumptuous. Dismissing the Helms-Burton law for the inhumane “Wet/Dry Feet” does not speak well for the “compassionate” President that went around the world to liberate the 30-yr old enslaved people of Iraq while ignoring the 45-yr.old enslaved people of Cuba.<
