As we have mentioned in previous programs, the United States has a "Sedition Act," and there have been many times in U.S. history when "martial law" has been used in extraordinary circumstances to restore social order. According to the Brennan Center's statistics in August of this year, there have been at least 68 times in U.S. history when martial law was imposed for a variety of reasons, including foreign war, civil war, rebellion, riots, and natural disasters.

FRIEND -- I've been in Washington for almost 40 years. I've seen a lot of Congresses come and go. But I can't remember a group of lawmakers who accomplished less than the folks who just wrapped up their work. With their help, we spent three trillion more than receipts and ratified the “print more money” scheme. We passed a new law to codify the abuses on Wall Street and not protect consumers. We screwed up the health care system and passed the raid the pension funds Act to get our economy growing again. But do you know why all that...

SPECIAL ALERT As you may already know, the campaign to restore your 2nd Amendment rights took a big step forward yesterday when the U.S. Supreme Court decided to hear McDonald v. Chicago – the Illinois State Rifle Association's lawsuit to overturn Chicago's handgun ban. The road ahead for McDonald v. Chicago will be long and tedious. Here are what we believe will be important milestones: 1. By late November 2009, briefs from our side must be submitted to the court. 2. Chicago will be given time to offer its reply and we will be given the opportunity to rebut Chicago's...

If you haven't read Matt Taibbi's recent Rolling Stone piece on Goldman Sachs, make sure to get your hands on it ASAP. It's a must read on how Goldman Sachs and the U.S. government work hand in glove to produce giant investment bubbles... bubbles that allow Goldman to work over investors for hundreds of billions of dollars. We don't think you can lay all the blame for the housing bubble and the tech bubble at Goldman's feet... but we do find it suspicious that a ton of high level government posts are staffed by Goldman employees. It's close to a...

Interview with a Gunfighter January 5th, 2009 Although I would not recommend that you ever sit down for an interview with the news media after killing two armed home invaders, the following unedited news video will teach you many important lessons. The most important lessons you will glean from this personal, lethal encounter report include: Mindset is everything. (Note what he said to himself when he made the decision to fight.) Training is only second to mindset. (Note what he says about his training.) Action always beats reaction. (As long as you hit with your first shot.) In a Gunfight,...

Friends This morning on Squawk box (financial network), four experts agreed. Equity talking heads agreed that equity market crash is factoring in the very high potential that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Obama will be leading this nation in 28 days. These Washington boneheads, are idiots. "their words not mine" This scary development to think the world meltdown in the equity is caused by the election of a democrat congress and president. Angered by soaring fuel prices, Europeans are protesting and taking a toll on consumers and companies by creating food stores shortages, lighting highways in the death of two people in Spain and Portugal. Amid warnings at the price of oil could sort of perhaps $250 a barrel within 18 months, EU officials plan to meet next week to consider solution to surging food and fuel costs. Adam McCarthy says he now spends nearly €60, or about $93, to fill up his Volvo, and he expects protests to continue across to Europe as drivers become increasingly frustrated.

Soldier's final journal. Soldier's story continues after death By MIKE NICHOLS mnichols@journalsentinel.com Posted: Jan. 6, 2008 Mike Nichols E-MAIL Andy Olmsted was too many things to neatly enumerate. He was a husband and a brother and a blogger. He was a son to two of my very good friends. "I don't know if there is an afterlife; I tend to doubt it, to be perfectly honest. But if there is any way possible, Amanda, then I will live up to Delenn's words, somehow, some way. I love you." Services for Andy Olmsted will probably be at Fort Carson in Colorado...

ISRA Alert: TOTAL COOK COUNTY GUN BAN CLEARS FIRST HURDLE Rabid gun-grabbers on the Cook County Board came one step closer last week to instituting a total ban on firearm ownership in the county – except for police and military personnel. Introduced by Commissioner William Beavers, the so-called “Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance” appears on the surface to be some sort of gun registration scheme. However, closer examination reveals that the only people who could comply with the registration requirements would be Chicago residents who had previously registered their guns with the city. Everyone else in Cook County would have to...
