I am a Vietnam Vet. Over the last 4 years I have come down with several Agent Orange related illnesses. These illnesses have left me unable to work.
Almost 18 months ago I requested benefits from the VA I still have not heard an answer. I did a little investigation and discovered that many other Vietnam Vets are have the same problems.
So I don’t really feel that this temporary shutdown is going to immediately affect me very much. I am expecting I will have to wait another 6-9 months before I get a decision from the VA.
I am mostly Irish and I seam to possess a little bit of common sense. But it appears that the people of County Clare and Galway are a great example of a couple of Irish phases “Ignorance can be fixed but stupid is forever” and “Don't sh*t in your dinner bucket.”
P.S. These phrases may not be of 100% Irish derivation but I have permission from Father Flanigan, my local priest, to claim them.
Don't think your right. I have a new Nokia windows phone 8 cellphone and have been playing around with the beta release of windows 8 for PC and I think Microsoft has hit a triple and maybe a home run.
It sure beats android for ease of use and even my technology handicapped wife (who never could use android) took to the windows phone immediately.
Gentlemen like Norm Braman are a vital part of our political life. They help keep the politician's honest and accountable. I wish we had more Norm Braman types all over the country.
The obvious problem with the MOVE act is there is no punishment for state and local governments if they fail to comply. How about fines of say $1000 per day for each military ballot that is not sent out at least 45 days prior to an election.
My bet is Rangel resigns. If he accept the ethics committee punishment now, before the Republics take over the House, he can avoid criminal prosecution.
I am currently undergoing treatment for bladder cancer at the Palo Alto California VA hospital. I looked into several other treatment facilities in northern California (Stanford, USF, etc.) before deciding on the VA. The VA medical staff are almost all Stanford doctors. I am receiving excellent care and could not be more satisfied.
Saw DeVore in the recent Republican Senate Candidates Debate. He was not impressive - came off as as whiney, spent most of his time attacking the other candidates, didn’t seem to have much of an agenda of his own.
It is either going to be Carley or Campbell that wins the primary. I think DeVore has to high a hill to climb to win the primary. So it would appear the choice we have to make in California is between the two Cs.
