"...6 Republican candidates hit double digits when it comes to who voters within their party want to be their nominee. Scott Walker leads with 18% to 15% for Marco Rubio, 13% for Mike Huckabee, 11% for Ted Cruz, and 10% each for Jeb Bush and Ben Carson. Chris Christie (6%), Rand Paul (5%), and Rick Perry (3%) round out the field. Walker has the slight overall edge on the Republican field due to his strength with voters who identify themselves as 'very conservative.' He gets 28% to 18% for Cruz, 16% for Huckabee, and 10% for Rubio. Rubio's greatest strength...

Scott Walker is coming to Philadelphia. The Wisconsin Governor and probable 2016 presidential candidate will keynote the 2015 Northeast Republican Leadership Conference.“Governor Scott Walker is one of the leading voices of conservative values in the Republican Party,” PA GOP Chair Rob Gleason said. “Governor Walker has a proven track record of putting Republican principles into practice in government. Scott Walker has always put the needs of the taxpayer ahead of the wishes of special interests, and I look forward to hearing him discuss his vision for the future of our Party and our country.” “As the cradle of liberty, Philadelphia...

1:00 video "......The only thing of value that was mentioned was that Hillary is not Scott Walker. No, she is not indeed. The Wisconsin Governor has a reputation for fulfilling his objectives without seeking media approval. Hillary is definitely not Scott Walker. If Hillary isn’t even viewed as having accomplished anything as Secretary of State, how can she persuade the general electorate to vote for her?

In the wake of the George Stephanopoulos scandal, most voters doubt the accuracy of political news coverage and think most reporters will slant their coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 61% of Likely U.S. Voters now do not trust the political news they are getting. That's a 16-point jump from 45% last October. Twenty-one percent (21%) still have confidence in the political coverage they get, but that's down from 33% in the earlier survey. Seventeen percent (17%) are not sure. WASHINGTON (CNN) – Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, the 2008 Iowa caucuses winner, is running again for the GOP presidential nomination, but this time he’ll skip the state’s high profile straw poll. Huckabee, who took second place in the 2007 survey, announced Thursday morning in a Des Moines Register op-ed that he won’t compete on the Iowa straw poll, instead saying that he wants to focus his resources on winning the state’s official caucus. “I appreciate the Iowa GOP for recognizing the need for some reforms, but playing to win in the straw poll still requires a heavy concentration of staff...

A few steps from the Capitol building on Tuesday afternoon, behind closed doors in Republicans’ upscale Capitol Hill Club, Scott Walker had a high-stakes sit-down. The Wisconsin governor—who’s indicated that he will launch a presidential bid after he signs the Badger State’s biennial budget—was there to woo top social conservative and evangelical leaders, a task that might seem easy at first glance. Walker’s dad is a pastor, he quotes a Christian devotional on the stump, and he signed legislation defunding Planned Parenthood in the state he governs. Christian conservatives should be worshipping the ground he walks on, right? Not so...

"I think the reason these anti-bike policies are being proposed is it’s a red-meat issue for a lot of Republicans," Bike Fed executive director Dave Cieslewicz told Madison.com. "They have stereotypes about what cyclists are and they don’t see them as their voters. They see attacks on cycling as politically beneficial." WATERLOO, Wis. (BRAIN) — Trek Bicycle's president, John Burke, is urging Wisconsin cyclists to contact their state lawmakers in support of the state's Complete Streets Law, which Gov. Scott Walker has proposed eliminating. Burke, in an email sent this week, also urged them to oppose a $25 state bicycle...

In December, I wrote a post about a groundbreaking new study published in Science, which had profound implications for the gay rights movement. The study’s researchers claimed that a mere 20-minute conversation about the importance of marriage equality could convince same-sex marriage opponents to support gay rights. People who spoke with straight canvassers demonstrated a slight boost in tolerance;those who spoke with gay canvassers demonstrated—and retained—an even more significant boost in support for gay rights.Does that sound too good to be true? It was. The study was co-authored by Donald Green, a professor of political science at Columbia University, and Michael J....

Malcolm X, the famed Civil Rights leader and minister of the Nation of Islam, would have turned 90 years old this week. While America annually marks the significance of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., it is only in Black communities nationally, and locally in Harlem, that we mark and celebrate the birth of King’s most formidable racial adversary. Undoubtedly this has something to do with the very forthright and unflinching manner in which Malcolm X talked about race in the 1960s. El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, as Malcolm X was otherwise known, did not have any hope that white...

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker brought some sunny Midwestern optimism Tuesday to Washington, D.C, a place known for partisan gloom. Congressional Republicans who met with Walker, a soon-to-be presidential contender, called him a breath of fresh air. The trip even won him some fans in unlikely places.....“I was so impressed that his whole message was positive,” Representative Joe Wilson, from the early primary state of South Carolina, tells Newsweek. “He was not hitting the president or the leading presidential candidate of another party.... It was about him and his agenda.” Wilson attracted national attention in 2009 when he shouted, “You lie!”...

A controversial drug testing proposal will remain in the state budget. The legislature’s Joint Finance Committee on Tuesday approved requiring those receiving public benefits to submit to drug testing. Those who fail would get taxpayer funded treatment, which Joint Finance Committee co-chair John Nygren (R-Marinette) said will help them break the cycle of addiction and become employed. The Marinette Republican said “it’s a better alternative than our corrections department. It’s a better alternative than ending up on welfare for God knows how long.” Democrats spent over an hour criticizing the proposal, noting that Wisconsin is unlikely to receive the waiver...

Wisconsin’s K-12 public schools would see about $200 million more in state funding and the private school voucher program would be broadly expanded, under a sweeping package of changes approved by the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee. The 29-page proposal, released just hours before the committee voted on the changes late Tuesday night, would increase funding for public schools by about $70 million in the 2016-17 school year, while keeping about $127 million in funding for schools in place that Governor Scott Walker had proposed cutting. It would amount to a $250 per pupil funding increase over the course of the...

President Obama will use a Wednesday speech to highlight his view that climate change is one of the most significant military threats to the United States and the world. Obama will argue in his address to graduates at the United States Coast Guard Academy that the fight against climate change is a fight for global peace and against the conflicts that lead to war, the White House said in a preview of his remarks. “I am here today to say that climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security, and, make no...

The Washington Post actually tweeted this out today on the Texas biker gang shootings. The race-obsessed paper wants desperately to make the story about race… And threw in a photo of Sarah Palin for kicks.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker's proposal prohibiting the state superintendent from forcing local school districts to adopt Common Core academic standards has been approved by the Legislature's budget committee. [snip] State Superintendent Tony Evers adopted the Common Core standards in 2010, but Walker's proposal would prohibit him from advocating for or promoting the standards to school districts.

Those accustomed to reading or listening only to liberal commentators may not be aware of “trigger warnings” and “safe zones” on college campuses. It seems that mostly conservative sites and writers are concerned with the increasingly draconian suppression of free speech on college campuses. But then, it is mostly conservative writers and speakers who are treated as though they’re bringing the Ebola virus rather than contrarian ideas to the sensitive ears of what we may as well name the “Swaddled Generation.” A trigger warning is usually conveyed on a sign carried or posted near the auditorium where a speech is...

Washington (CNN)Republicans are more positive about their slate of presidential contenders than they were around the same time during the last two campaigns, according to a new survey. The poll, from the Pew Research Center, found that 57% of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters said they have an "excellent" or "good" impression of their party's presidential candidates. That compares to the 50% that viewed the GOP field positively in September of 2007, and the far fewer -- 44% -- that had a favorable view of the field in May of 2011. Democrats, meanwhile, are experiencing the opposite trend: they're less...

.....Disney, Southern California Edison and most recently Fossil Group have together fired hundreds of American tech workers and forced them to train their foreign replacements, many of whom were flown in specifically to take their job.....On their last day of employment, he and the other replaced workers were asked to turn over their badges, their Disney season passes, and their laptops and then asked to leave.... “It was just a complete shock that you could do that in this country,” he said........ “It’s just so humiliating and so anti-American. It’s just, it’s just terrible. It’s just awful.”Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker...

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker met with about 100 House Republicans on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, engaging in a wide ranging discussion that hit on everything from foreign policy to why Walker doesn't have a college degree, according to those in the room Members who spoke to NBC News after the meeting gave Walker overwhelmingly positive reviews. A common refrain from members was Walker's ease at conversing with them, which they felt would play well in a grassroots campaign and eventually with swing voters.

San Francisco gives parents a say in where their children go to school — and that is leading to less diversity [snip] A federal judge ordered desegregation, and in 1971 San Francisco put children on buses that crisscrossed the city so they could be in multiracial schools. The plan almost immediately ended racial isolation — but it also helped drive families out of the district and into the suburbs or into private schools. Many Chinese families resisted integration, boycotting district public schools and creating their own private “freedom schools” for their children instead. From the 1960s to 1983, the school...
