The federal government came back from the drawing board yesterday after trying to find new solutions to the looming economic recession. The government is now proposing a new stimulus package in which America will print enough new money to give $1,000 to every citizen. This should increase consumer spending which will help the current economic climate much like the economic improvements from increased government spending. Although, this new stimulus plan will solve the capital availability problem and portions of the economic slowdown, there is still much more that needs to be done to improve the economy. When the supposed conservative candidates talked about conservation, global warming, and energy, I thought I was tuned into the democrat debate for a while... Although, some of the answers about the oil profits were fine, there was way too much green leaning on all the other points; imho. Did anybody else get disgusted about the fighting the global warming "crisis" that they talked about? Even if they didn't say they support a fight against global warming, I would of thought someone would have stated that global warming is junk science and bad political and economic policy.

In the Southwest Minnesota region, it is overwhelmingly conservative, with about 70% voting Republican. SMSU is a small college that touts a fairly balanced faculty in ideology. However, it is clear that by an overwhelming margin that the college students and professors here are completely insane!
