  • In Desperate Need of Prayer

    01/23/2012 3:58:53 PM PST · by crghill · 84 replies
I'm asking all Christian Freepers for prayer for me and my family. All of my children are adopted and one child has Reactive Attachement disorder. We are having a horrible time with this child and things are very desperate. Also, I'm very discouraged and very far away from God at this time. Please pray that God will restore me to himself and that he will provide assistance with our daughter. Thank you in advance for your help.
  • Ron Paul DIDN'T storm out of CNN interview

Reports that Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul stormed out of a CNN interview earlier this week seem to be dramatically over-exaggerated. Raw footage of the Thursday interview shows that it lasted nearly ten minutes, which is not unusually brief on the campaign trail. After discussing foreign policy, the payroll tax, negative advertisements, and super fund PACs, the interview concluded with three whole minutes of discussion on the issue of the incendiary racist and homophobic letters that were published in Mr Paul's name in the Eighties and Nineties. • Zhytomyr Ukraine any freepers? (Vanity)

The family and I are currently in Zhytomyr Ukraine adopting two girls from an orphanage. It's not our first time in Ukraine as we've adopted from here before. However, it's getting kinda tough and I'm hoping to connect to some local Christians or Americans (hopefully conservative) in the area. I'm a trader by trade and would love to find others involved in markets so we can talk shop. I know it's a longshot but thought I'd post anyway. Thanks!

Excerpt of article. See rest at link. When he who is chosen to defend the good and hold the evil in check himself begins to cherish wickedness … is it not clear that he justly forfeits the dignity conceded to him and the people stand free of his rule and subjection, since it is evident that he was first to violate the compact on account of which he was made ruler? … It is one thing to rule another to act the tyrant in a realm. For as faith and reverence ought to be rendered to emperors and kings for...
  • A National Sales Tax

    04/15/2007 7:43:22 AM PDT · by crghill · 44 replies · 831+ views
I was wondering if a solution for the illegal immigration costs might be a national sales/consumption tax. I was in a shopping mall here in south central texas and numerous spanish-speaking people were in there buying alongside me. It seemed to me that if some of those people were illegal then they certainly weren't filing tax returns. However, they were spending money. If we left the current system of taxation and went to a consumption tax then legal or illegal, they would be paying every time they spent a dollar. I would exclude food and medical care from a consumption...
