  • THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE WILL BE BATTLE ONE

    ME | 11/4/08 | VANITY
My first vanity, but I do not care. The first battle to take back the country from liberal thought and rebuild the conservative coalition is THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. Somehow, someway TWENTY PERCENT of so called conservatives voted FOR Obama. NOTHING explains 20 percent of "conservatives" voting for Obama. Stay home? Maybe. But what in the HELL is a real conservative doing voting for the most liberal person in the Senate, and the most Liberal candidate ever? We conservatives have let the liberals take over the media, the schools and the cultural agenda. Now they have the media and the treasury....
  • Comparison of 1929 cycle, Internet Bubble cycle and Japan 1990s crisis. Patterns?

Do cycles exist in the financial markets? Take a look at the black line in the graph below. The U.S. stock market had a gigantic bubble back in 2000. When it burst, stocks came crashing down. Over the next several years, policy makers did all they could to get things going again, focusing mostly on monetary policy and increasing homeownership. This had the unintended consequence of creating too much inflation, which caused central bankers to tighten aggressively. Thus began what will almost certainly be declared a recession. This mimics the US stock market bubble back in 1929...

  • Interesting One Hundred Year Stock Market Chart (Perspective)

Given the current economic climate and the discussion of the 1930's I thought this easily clickable and manipulated stock chart would be good for perspective. It is one thing to read here and there what the market did over time, but to see it in chart form for a hundred years, or broken into decade segments is a more effective "wow" point. We aren't even in the remote ballpark by the way.

  • Howard Stern calls Democrats Communists...will never vote for a Dem again.

Sirius Satellite Radio host Howard Stern supports the merger of his network with XM Satelitte Radio and is fuming at Democratic opposition on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) panel. After FCC commissioners announced they have reached a deal to approve the merger of Sirius (NASDAQ:SIRI) and XM (NASDAQ:XMSR), Stern ranted about Democrats’ ‘gangsterism’ and ‘communism’ and the obstacles to the merger. Stern described a phone conversation he had with his agent, who he described as a “liberal Democrat kind of guy.” “I go, ‘That’s it!’” Stern said. “[I] go, ‘You know what Don, I’ve voted Republican and I’ve voted Democrat....
  • All airlines increasing baggage fees significantly

Pack light or pay up. Forcing customers to pay for service previously included with ticket purchases, UAL Corp.'s United Airlines and US Airways Group Inc. will begin charging $50 round-trip for checking a second piece of luggage on May 5, and Southwest Airlines Co. has already implemented a similar fee for checking a third bag. Other airlines may follow, eager to collect hundreds of millions of dollars without raising ticket prices.
