Watching that toast makes me cringe from embarrassment :(

Can we please designate some other official to be our ‘Toaster-In-Chief’?

And, what's with those note cards? Took me all of a few minutes to memorize that toast. If it's about being nervous, then he should have doubly-prepared to compensate for that.

And, really — how difficult IS it to learn the proper protocol for such an occasion? I can google it and know fairly rapidly what to do, and if it were important enough, I certainly would take the time to learn it.

It's not rocket science, after all.

    I'm speechless!

Newt obviously wants to sit in the While House and apparently thinks that buddying up with members and friends of the current administration, as well trying to be an appealing RINO to those he perceives as moderate lib swing voters, will help him achieve his aims. However, there doesn’t appear to be such a thing as a ‘moderate’ lib these days or even one attempting to appear bi-partisan unless they want to be effectively cut off at the kneecaps by their own party. Sitting on a bench with Pe-LOW-si, smiling warmly at her, is not a moderate stance, and sickens the Conservative base who really care about the future of this Country. Californians in particular KNOW firsthand how radical the grinning banshee is. Gone are the days of the [John] Kennedy democrats. Also gone is any credibility of the former Contract with America crowd. Newt in his ‘I was a few heartbeats away from being President’ reminiscing is trying again to regain his glory days, which he and his bunch so took for granted and royally screwed up like a bunch of fatted calf politicians. Yep — Newt believes in recycling — of that old, tired Contract with America sound bite. Fast forward to today, Newt. That isn’t going to work with today’s Conservatives and is definitely not going to work with liberal voters or libs in power because those in power do not need you and lib voters have no reason to vote for a ‘moderate’ RINO Conservative over ANY kind of liberal. Better for Conservatives to stick with principles from now on because, in the long run, that is what will get them the White House — not RINO politics — and so long as we have our constitutionally-based republic. Learn a lesson from the McCain debacle and listen to what Conservatives across this great nation are shouting from the rooftops. We, our Country, our kids, and our grandkids cannot afford to be swayed by apologetics, and we won’t be fooled again.

When an immoral group knows that the ‘other side’ has logical and just arguments, the last thing its members want is for that other side to become strong in organizing. Many libs think they have a lock on community organizing and screaming the loudest (’rule by noise’), coupled with little-to-no restraint against lying, cheating, stealing to win — and to silence the opposition (they don’t want others to be exposed to viewpoints other than their own). They simply cannot tolerate Conservatives speaking at public events, so they try to shout them down, throw things at speakers, harass them, try to block them from speaking in the first place, misrepresent what they say, mock them — the list goes on and on and are the actions of frightened people who cannot honestly defend their positions in a civil debate but who want to ‘win’ nevertheless. They fear Conservatives organizing because they worry they will do that better, too, and so they attempt to silence them by any means possible. Also, they feel that appeals to compassion (no matter how false the appeals or how dubious the accusations upon which they are based) will weaken Conservatives. They remind me of the bully who feels entitled to fight ugly and dirty, but when the other guy starts to win, the bully cries ‘uncle, please don’t hurt me...you’re being mean’ to stop what the bully started, and once the other person stops, the bully delivers a sucker punch. One only need pay attention to those most attacked by libs and with the most vitriol to determine whom they most fear. Conservatives cannot allow themselves to be shouted down or namecalled out of existence or to be sidetracked by these attacks. These are old tricks that have been played out in other countries, to the eventual detriment and downfall of those countries and its citizens (except for a privileged few) when these strategies have been successful. A complicit mainstream media conveniently fails at reporting how this has happened over and over again in other nations, for fear that people here will become aware of the dire and potentially irreversible consequences that will befall them if and when a bully ‘wins’.

Newt doesn’t get it. He is so over, as is his tired one-trick pony Contract with America. He and his cohorts blew it then and now they want another chance. Our Country can no longer afford his mistakes. Newt sits with Pe-LOW-si for all to see. What a stupid mistake; that image will be branded in peoples’ minds forever. Then New York. His corrupt endorseement is all over the internet — can’t take that back. He wants to co-opt the Tea Party Movement? No thanks! We are not his toys to play with. All I sense from him anymore is arrogance, elitism, poor judgment and underestimation of the intelligence, savvy, memory and heart of the ‘little people’ out here. Retire, Newt. We have hard work to do and don’t need you or your self-interested insider ways stuck on our shoes as we fight for our Country. We do not want ‘business as usual’. You had your chance. Time to move over. And please stop the photo ops with the likes of the grinning banshee. You have fully demonstrated that you have more in common with them than with us. Think those folks are your friends? Think again. You lost the best friends you could ever have. Hannity may try to excuse you, but we don’t. We don’t appreciate people selling our Country’s future for a personal ‘seat at the table.’
