I have Meniere’s Disease. Very similar to what Rush deals with. Esteem specifically rules out use for those with Meniere’s.Rush couldn’t gain by Esteem either. Rush has a cochlear implant. I have one “dead” ear. The other only 35% hearing. But, I suffer from vertigo. Cochlear implants wouldn’t help. I discussed it a few times on KSFO. I like Mark Williams. That’s who they replaced me with.

Why should she have sidestepped the question? She answered the question correctly. I wish she could have elaborated about the Jefferson letter to the Connecticut Church where he uses the term separation of church and state for the first time. That letter (to Danbury Anabaptist I believe) was designed to assure the Church there would be no state sanctioned religion. The First Amendment never was intended to cleanse the public sphere of religious messages. Separation of Church and state was never mentioned by the SCOTUS until 1957.

This question was designed to trip her up. If she had taken a pass they would have made that an issue. We have the Constitution and history on our side. Our founders would be disgusted with an urchin like Coons.

It really frosts me that the lamestream media has been successfully been able to define O’Donnell. Saw Kerry the other day talking about O’Donnell and witchcraft. BP will be made to make people whole and help restore the Gulf Coast. This would transpire in a court of law. If the White House and Dems in Congress did nothing BP would be made to pay. This dog and pony show is about sullying the private sector and create an opportunity to grow government. Libs love this.

The world is not risk free. That's the goal of libs. To get there they need to grow government and play nanny to us all. We need oil. We need offshore drilling. The people along the Gulf Coast don't support a moratorium on drilling. Man, this makes me hot. Seeing clowns like Waxman gleeful as they see an opportunity to destroy a needed corporation. I love Haley Barbour. When I was doing my show here in Dallas-FW he would fly me to D.C. when he headed the RNC. Hosts from around the nation would sit at a table and Haley would just pick our brains on issues. I hope Michael Steele does that.

My problem with Haley is the GOP can't be seen as a regional Southern party. Whether we like it or not that is the perception of a lot of independents we need to win. We need to sell conservatism in the most effective way possible. A lot of that means being honest about our condition at this point in time.

I agree the TARP vote is problematic. It's funny, here in Texas Kay Bailey Hutchison is apologizing for her YES vote on TARP as she runs for Gov. We can't expect perfection. All of us can find something we don't like in a candidate's record. But Thune is no RINO. Look at the link provided about for key issues.

Our team has received our message. I focus on the crowd running the federal government and the catastrophe they have unleashed. This crowd is dismantling our way of life. They must be defeated. We must stay together to draw this ugly time in our history to a close. We need to win big in 2010 and make certain Barry is turned out in 2012.

I think a lot of us are cynical for a reason. GOP leadership has let us down too often. However, I think it's time to be selective in our anger. Obama in one year has done something I didn't think possible this time last year. Brought conservatives together. It's time to look forward not back. Thune knocked of Tom Daschle. Has an 87% lifetime ACU rating.Guys like Inhoffe, Coburn (I think Ok. sends the two best or best two out of three) to the US Senate) DeMint, et al are leading the way. As it stands now no GOP member of the Senate will vote for Obamacare. This is, without doubt, the most important piece of legislation to come down since I was a kid.

Personally, I think a relatively new face is the best thing for the GOP. I love Sarah. My dream ticket is Palin-Bachmann. But stuff like that is just dreaming.Flame away

Conservatives need to run the GOP from top down. I care nothing about the Party. All they are there to do is to carry our water. Thune is a very articulate, TV friendly conservative. The more I see the more I like.

I will be filling in for Barbara Simpson Dec. 20,26 and 27. Hope you are there.

Absolutely correct. Sirius/XM service will go on. Either Echostar or Liberty Media will either swallow it whole or buy a substantial chunk. There are nearly 20 million subscribers. The hard part is behind the venture. If they restructure via Chapter 11 or are bought out the future is still bright for satellite radio.

Like others have said paying Howard Stern hundreds of millions of dollars was idiotic. The good news is if they go Chapter 11 or are bought out they can dump the costly nonsense. Howard Stern,Oprah and Martha Stewart. Just don't cut out all the MLB,NHL and NFL broadcasts. Then I am gone.

I think most freepers understand this guy doesn't have a clue. Most freepers by now understand this began in the 70's with the Community Reinvestment Act which was designed to make up for the redlining of minorities out of home ownership. It was compounded by Clinton Administration policies intended to push Freddie and Fanny into providing more support for lenders writing mortgages for minorities. Henry Cisneros admits as much.

Libs point to Gramm-Leach-Bliley legislation which allowed banks to operate in a more diverse fashion. The truth is this legislation aided the banks that were prudent and to this day remain solid.

Just as the Great Depression was caused by poor government policies the current situation arose in a similar fashion. Government created this mess. There is blame to go around. However, blaming free markets is a lib and mainstream media canard.

    davidtalker to Chet 99
You can feel it. I'm not saying McCain can win. With Palin in INDIANA this late in the game, that's a sure sign McCain-Palin are in serious trouble. But, you can see them getting off the deck in the midst of the media's standing eight count. There is something going on. People are beginning to get serious. Obama may be the hot date. McCain is who you marry. McCain has always said the dynamic of the race doesn't congeal until 72 hours out.

The debate the other night was more important than the MSM understands or lets on. McCain did better than they admit. We have seen this before. Humphrey nearly overtook Nixon in the last days in 1968. Ford came back to create a very tight race in 1976. Reagan won in 1980 on the weekend before election day. Ditto Bush in 2000. Why did Barry buy those half hour blocks on the networks? Some say to reach Red State voters to give him a national mandate. I don't buy it. They KNOW independents, currently undecided, will break for McCain. Obama also knows he better be above 4% nationally in their internal polls. That's traditional undercounting of GOP voters. They are banking on high turnouts of Blacks and younger voters. Maybe. Maybe not.

What's different now than in the past is the speed of the news cycle. In 1976 people got their news from the newspaper and evening network news. No more. A race can turn in hours.

I am not saying McCain is going to win. But, the voters resent being told its over. They haven't been sold on Barry yet. He hasn't sealed the deal. All things considered, he should be destroying McCain. Hillary would be untouchable at this point. McCain is behind, but he's off the canvas and still punching. he ought to get Sty Stallone to accompany he and Joe the Plumber for the last week of the campaign. Think he will get a cease and desist order if he opens with the theme from "Rocky?"

Correct. Some people expect FOX News to be a "right wing" outlet. They are not. and, we shouldn't want them to be. They are definitely right of center on most occasions. But, unlike CNN and MSNBC they have lots of lib contributors. They try to be fair and balanced. That's all we ask.

But how can you call them out for being pro Obama? That's insane. They are hammering the Ayers connection all weekend. remember, just discussing Ayers takes the campaign in a different direction. The new "Huckabee" show can't be called pro-Obama. The financial meltdown show was first rate. Hannity's show on Obama tonight is something you won't see anywhere else.

Bottom line is simple Dems gave us the Community Reinvestment Act in 1979. Designed to get minorities and working poor into homes. That was exacerbated in the 90's. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pushed for loans to these groups and FORCED lenders to write these sketchy mortgages. Bush, McCain and Congressional GOP tried numerous times to reform Fannie and Freddie and were called racists for their trouble.

It wasn't Bush. It wasn't deregulation. It was social engineering that created the mess. Good intentions. Bad politics.
