Hello Eric and R. Scott... if you are still around.

I just found you while looking for the fair-skinned Indians/Native Americans found early on here in the Americas for one of my nephews.

I ran a few Google Searches:

1898 - Farmer Olof Ohman finds a stone tablet with runic carvings on it in his field near Kensington, Minnesota. The runes indicate a party of Viking explorers passed through that area in 1362. Initially considered a hoax, it was accepted by the Smithsonian Institution in 1948. Opinions differ, but most academic sources today doubt its veracity.

There are many ancient stories much like this among the many Indian/Native American Tribes. There are even stories told by the Kiowas I believe about their ancestors seeing another group of Peoples with dogs pulling sleds coming across the Bering Straight. Not all Indian Tribes came over the Bering Straight. Many were here, some say since the Beginning.

The Cherokees believe that our ancestors were always here on this continent.... we call her Turtle Island.

Hope this helps some. Dolores Cobb Phifer
