We just registered my wife's Bersa about two and a half weeks ago. It took just a few mintues. She filled out a one page form, they did a computer warrant check to be sure she was legally allowed to own, presumably, and handed her the "Blue Card".

I live in Vegas, born here, and am moving out of the county in a couple months for reasons like this in many areas.. but I do not understand your use of the term "Cashcow". While unconstitutional, a PITA and scary, registration of your handgun in las vegas costs nothing but about 15 minutes at the local copshop substastion. I think the better result of the bill being passed would be the elimination of the north las vegas and boulder city bans on open carry or carry in your personal vehicle, and to once and for all (hopefully) end the threat of statewide registration.
