  • Military Ballots Late? UNACCEPTABLE. What To Do?

It seems that there are several instances of military ballots not being sent on time. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE in America. WE all rermember judges keeping the polls open in St. Louis and New Jersey in the past, because lawyers went before them claiming some couldn't vote. It is time to do that here. The purpose of this thread is for knowledgeable FReepers to tell us what steps must be taken to get the judiciary to extend these elections until all military ballots have been able to be counted. If we lose control of the vote, we lose control of the...

Well, so much for the double bye in the Big East Tournament. It started when Number One seed Syracuse fell to Georgetown, continued when Marquette beat #4 Villanova, and just escalated when Notre Dame beat Two seed Pitt. I have to think they may consider a new format if their marquee teams keep pulling the one and done.

Just a quick thought about the American justice system that requires that a defendant receive a trial by a jury OF HIS PEERS. Of course, American citizens who go on trial can be tried by a jury of American citizens, but KSM is not a citizen. Will we fill the jury box with enemy combatants in order to provide a jury of his peers? We will not. This single fact makes the trial of KSM a mockery and a sha.

Not since Jesus of Nazareth in the early days of history has there been such a rising star in the heavens. Obama today, through the sheer force of his teleprompters, turned a bottle of water into a carafe of fine Merlot. He'll be flyin to Paris later with his wife so he can drink while gazing at the Seine...Later this week he plans to feed all of Detroit from a few fishes and unleavened loaves of bread.

SAN ANTONIO) -- Saying the "idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong," Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean predicted today that the Democratic Party will come together on a proposal to withdraw National Guard and Reserve troops immediately, and all US forces within two years. Dean made his comments in an interview on WOAI Radio in San Antonio. "I've seen this before in my life. This is the same situation we had in Vietnam. Everybody then kept saying, 'just another year, just stay the course, we'll have a victory.' Well,...

Okay, the news is finally being learned in spite of hysterical attacks against Bush by Democrats and the Media. What this all boils down to is a series of failures. While the Fedgov did respond somewhat slowly...mostly due to the "allclear" given by the media on Monday...actual failures of leadership were exhibited by the Dem Mayor Nagin, and the Dem Governor Blanco. Nagin failed to follow his own disaster plan that called for him to use public busses to remove those without transportation 72 hrs before the event. Blanco failed to allow the Red Cross to bring needed supplies, food,...

Dear Democrat Party, I am a senior citizen. During the Clinton Administration I had an extremely good and well paying job. I took numerous vacations and had several vacation homes. Since President Bush took office, I have watched my entire life change for the worse. I lost my job. I lost my two sons in that terrible Iraqi War. I lost my homes. I lost my health insurance. As a matter of fact I lost virtually everything and became homeless. Adding insult to injury, when the authorities found me living like an animal, instead of helping me, they arrested me....

  • HELP! Need to find Congress resolution which gave Bush power to fight terrorism.

Now that we are discussing possible action against Syria, certain nay-sayers have claimed that Bush must go to Congress for permission to attack them. While we know this is not true, there was a resolution passed just after 9/11/01 that gave Bush the power to use military force against terrorists and the nations that harbor them. The one we used to take the Taliban out of Afghanistan. After searching with Search Engines for a while I have been unable to locate that bill. Can anyone help?

I have envisioned a way to take Baghdad that will minimize Coalition casualties. I call it Operation Pinprick for reasons that will be seen shortly. All press to date has surmised that we will surround Baghdad with our troops, maybe lay siege, maybe collapse upon the city. Therefore, the Saddam regime will be expecting a circular formation, and will set his forces accordingly. Picture the Allied forces as a huge circle surrounding Baghdad with a smaller circle inside resisting advance. What defeats a circular defense? A piercing pinprick straight through the middle. Identify the longest widest street in Baghdad...you need...

Yesterday, I attended the Saint Patrick's Day parade in downtown Rochester, NY with my family. We arrived early, and had a good spot in the sun and one row back from the street. The parade was proceeding normally for a while, until we noticed that there was a break. Looking down the street to see what the holdup was, I saw a single figure walk around the corner trailed by a convertible. Who was holding up the parade? None other than Charles Schumer, Senator from NY. As Chucky approached, I had a perfect line of sight over the kids sitting...

Senator Hatch was just on Sean Hannity's radio show. He called from the Republican senate cloakroom. He urged listeners to call the Democrat senate cloakroon at 202 224-4691 to protest what they are trying to do to this nomination. Ge said ask to speak with Kennedy or Leahy. LOL Hatch actually sounds angry. 841 posted on 02/12/2003 2:51 PM PST by Darlin' (The choice is clear, you stand with us or you stand with terrorist)

A major talking point of the left in these pre-Iraq War days is that we don't have to remove Saddam because we have him "contained." By this, they mean to insinuate that he cannot hurt us because of our military presence in the area. There are several things wrong with this theory, and one major way to counteract it. First, the flaws. Flaw One...Terrorists networks Defeat Military Strength. Even a full blockade of Iraq could not keep Islamofascist terrorists from taking small amounts of bio-chem agents out of the country. As Sec. Powell noted, a teaspoon of Anthrax was enough...
