Taking a life is never a good thing. I am a police officer in AZ. I am friends with a sharpshooter in our swat devision. He has had to take the lives of a few suspects. He says, it is like “the best of two evils” Sure, he was a drug addict and was a leech on society. But, who is to say that he couldn’t be rehabilitated and become a useful member of the community. In this situation, I would have done the same thing to save that child, but I gaurantee you that the swat sharpshooter who took down the suspect did not feel good about haveing to end it that way. My buddy says that he trains countless hours to make sure that he is the best that he can be, but he hopes to not have to use his skill. Just my two cents on the subject.
