    This guy has neither lived on nor worked the border with any Minuteman--or even left-wing extremist--organization. He does not know the sneaks' arrogance, hasn't seen their vandalism, hasn't known the stink of their litter, hasn't heard Mexican-side bullhorns call the locals for violence against Minutemen, calls made by their at-home coyote handlers and illegal wannabes.

    Nor has he had lawful Mexican ranchers ask Minutemen for radio notification of any groups of illegals stealing and butchering cattle from their border-crossing staging areas.

    Come get your education firsthand. On the New Mexico Border itself!

    BTW, my mother came to the US via Ellis Island--back when honest immigrants had to satisfy residency and health requirements, then pass a written test--in English. (No vouchers for English classes for the honest, hardworking folk!)

    There is no such thing as a 'good' judge on the current Florida Supreme Court. It is time for a clean sweep. If we fall to cuttin' each other over who is a 'good' judge to keep, all Seven of these dunderkopf Dwarfs will be retained!

    I don't see how the Japs sending kids to blow themselves up makes the Yanks feel bad. 'splain that again.
    ====

    I had the good fortune to go to Iwo in 1986. It was an incredible day. One I shall never forget.
    ====

    I have the hallowed memory of being part of the Third MarDiv Honor Ceremony at Iwo in February, 1953, the 9th anniversary of the taking of the Island. Later that day, climbing to the top of the Mount, I trudged by a grenade laying in the sunshine among the rocks beside the trail. After the climb, standing atop Mt. Suribachi was and remains an ineffible experience--a sort of long, frozen stretch of imagery in my stream of conscious memory...the ruggedness of the ascent; the smoke and smell of sulpher from the yellow, smouldering volcano; the bright-flying flag atop the marble memorial--'Uncommon valour was a common virtue'--and the stretches of black, lava-sanded beaches.

    While digging in on the first night, I located a buried drum of gasoline of the kind used as a booby trap by the Nips. That night one of the other Marines tripped a Bouncing Betty which caught him in the privates. I was standing by while his platoon leader radioed the nature and extent of the injuries to the offshore medical vessel. Although the Betty did not explode, the force of its bounce did a real job on this poor guy--nine years after the end of the battle.

    I have never heard any stories about any children of Iwo Jima, and I don't believe any of it. Besides, it is not only the innocents that suffer in war. Collateral damage and all that, you know.

    God, Save the South.

    The beginning of this repeating pattern has already become public with the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security. It has an ominous sound, that name, almost Germanic. (I can’t wait to see the uniforms.)

    I can't wait to see the borders of Bush II's idea of Homeland. Somehow I think the Southern border will be well below the Rio G.

    ===============
    FIRST: My comment about the article below:
    You will recognize the probable importance of this following announcement if you are familiar with what is going on at Klamath Falls, Oregon. (If not familiar, see http://freerepublic.com/forum/a3b93b562767f.htm and http://search.news.yahoo.com/search/news?p=klamath for a quick study.

    DISTRICt MAY REVISE WATER WITHDRAWAL
    From Herald Tribune Newscoast, September 3, 2001:
    http://www.newscoast.com/2charlotte.cfm?ID=52089
    The Southwest Florida Water Management District will discuss a revised schedule for adopting protection measures for water resources at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the district's office, 7601 Highway. 301 N., Tampa.

    The agency will hear public comments on its timetable for setting minimum flows and levels. The levels limit the amount of water that can be withdrawn from rivers, lakes, aquifers and other sources. The current schedule is available at the agency's Web site, www.watermatters.org.

    Written comments may be submitted before Sept. 18 to Planning Manager B. Terry Johnson, 2379 Broad St., Brooksville, 34604-6899. For more information, call Johnson or Paula McCleery at (800) 423-1476, Ext. 4400.
    ==================
    Naturally, as they are doing at Klamath, the Feds of the SW FLorida Water District have set these hearings, not in SW Florida, but for many of us, over 100-miles to the North--in Central Florida. Just the tactic used at Klamath Falls, where one of the leaders was forced over this weekend to travel over 400 miles (Klamath Falls to Eugene) for a court appearance set by the Feds.

    FSI, folks,
