  • Ron Paul: “If I Were an Iranian, I’d Want a Nuclear Weapon”

Israel can protect herself. Let her fight. The Saudi’s won’t allow Iran as the regional superpower. Let the Saudi’s fight their own war. The Turks have nuclear weapons. The Turks share a border with Iran. Why do Americans need to sacrifice blood and treasure for yet another war when there are nations in the region that can adequately defend themselves?

Its enough. I’ve had enough of the big-government neo-cons and the big-government leftists in this government. The U.S. is now at 105% debt-to-GDP, Hussein Obama is asking to increase the debt by another $1.3 Trillion (and he will be granted that request because Boehner and Cantor are gutless, spineless frauds). And here on FreeRepublic we have so-called conservatives looking to funnel more taxpayer money into military spending and the military industry. Its just crazy. What has happened to our values and priorities?

When did FreeRepublic become overrun with neo-cons? Why should I care as an American that Iran wants to build a nuclear weapon to the point that I want to sacrifice my sons and daughters to attack a nation on the other side of the world? With whose money are we paying for this? With whose blood? The Saudi’s, Egyptians, and Israelis might actually find some common ground over a common enemy and go to war with Iran themselves. Why do we as American’s have this knee-jerk reaction to war? Are we so deeply in the grasp of fascism in this country that we can no longer see liberty and the value of independence?

What has happened to this message board? What has happened to constitutional conservatism and limited government?

There are three candidates remaining in this race who believe in a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Those candidates are Michele Bachmann (my candidate), Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul. The other candidates are people of the government, by the government, and for the government. I am not voting for Ron Paul but I will not attack him either. I disagree with his bottom line on foreign policy (which is interpreted by the mainstream media as a racist agenda) but I agree with him in principle (which is that America needs to be isolationist for a time until we get our economic house in order).

The attacks on Paul have degraded into that leftist mechanism to silence those who oppose them — the label of “racist”. Lately we are hearing Paul labeled with the standard leftist smear of “dumb”. Paul is man who believes that the federal government has powers that it should not have but should belong exclusively to the states and private sector to retain that power. The federal government grows in power and so it grows in cost and expands its influence. Ron Paul believes in limited government and would abolish entire federal departments to diminish the size and cost of government. The Federal Reserve needs to be abolished and the collusion between big-government neo-cons, big government leftists, big-banking, and big-corporation needs to be broken. Only a Tea Party majority in the House and Senate in combination with a constitutional limited-government conservative in the White House would break that fascist collusion.

Right now, that fascist big-government-corporate-banking mechanism is why Romney and Gingrich are promoted by the mainstream media including FOX News and why Bachmann, Santorum, and Paul are marginalized. As such, I will look beyond my disagreements with Dr. Paul to the bigger picture. Although I am fully supporting Michele Bachmann, I will defend Ron Paul.

  • Breaking: House GOP agrees to Senate’s two-month payroll-tax bill (McConnell’s blueprint)

I want to put my head through a wall. How did the Republican leadership allow this to happen? Who came up with this plan?

They should have stood firm on this thing and deployed Chairman of Govt Reform Issa, Budget Committee Chairman Ryan, and Small Business Committee Chairman Graves to the national media to communicate the Republican philosophy to the American people.

Maybe in the next election the Tea Party can win enough seats so that we can replace the moderate Boehner and put in place a solid Tea Party guy who won’t cave to the neo-con liberal wing of the Republican party.

Did the Republican leadership really botch this thing for the whole nation to hear and read about over the long holiday? They didn’t really, did they? There has to be some kind of strategy here, right? I mean, they didn’t let the Democrats and Hussein Obama come across as the leaders and the tax cutters and the Republican as they bumbling, confused, cowering children following the lead of the adults, right? Explain this witchcraft!

The establishment Republicans have given the Tea Party public all the more reason to vote out the big-government neo-cons and replace them with limited-government, people for the people, Tea Party politicians. Hot on the heels of the news that the Republicans caved in on this botched mess, we get word that Bush 41 has endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination. Of course the big-government neo-cons love Romney. If this isn’t another indication that there is collusion between like-minded big-government pols on both sides of the aisle, I don’t know what is. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama.. little significant difference among them, and more of the same with Romney or another Obama presidency. I’m just so angry... sorry for the wall of text.

I’m so angry and disappointed with Boehner. We need $10T in cuts over the next 4 years. Instead, Boehner promises the opposite and delivers less than one-tenth of what is actually needed.

Boner, here’s a clue: If you want to separate yourself from the Progressive Fascists on both sides of the aisle who insist on raising the debt limit while increasing taxes and government spending, agree with their proposal as long as they accept these demands effective within the next four years -

    Abolish the Federal Reserve
    Abolish the Federal Reserve
    Abolish the Federal Reserve
Abolish the Department of Health and Human Services
    Abolish the Department of Education
    Abolish the Transportation Security Administration
Abolish the Department of Homeland Security
    Abolish the Department of Commerce
Abolish the Federal Reserve (did I mention that already?)
Abolish the Department of Housing and Urban Development
    Abolish the Department of Labor
    Abolish the Department of Transportation
    Abolish the Department of Energy
    Abolish the Federal Housing Administration
Abolish the Federal National Mortgage Association
Abolish the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation
    Abolish the Federal Trade Commission
Abolish the Government National Mortgage Association
Abolish the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and NPR
Abolish the National Endowment for the Arts
Abolish the National Endowment for the Humanities
Abolish the EPA, FDA, OSHA, and IRS

    Eliminate all federal bailouts
    Eliminate all foreign aid
    Eliminate Obamacare
Turn Medicare/Medicaid into Medical Savings Accounts
    Turn Social Security into 401k’s
Abolish the Federal Reserve (in case I forgot to mention it)

Loosening regulations will allow the private sector and local governments to quickly fill the voids left by the cuts. Lets start with that to reign in this federal beast.

I wonder how long it will be before someone tries to sue the federal government for birth defects and an increase in autism from common, ordinary household accidents like a dropped and broken CFL in the home.

I bet the EPA is already aware of this. They are likely designing a law requiring EPA cleanup and/or home inspection for mercury contamination from shattered CFL’s to remove the federal government from liability.

There are so many posts in this thread that touch on different facets of the problem as if there is a subconscious and superficial awareness but no realization of the fundamental driving force.

There -is- corruption on both sides of the aisle, and it is financed and manipulated by the Federal Reserve and its involvement with international banking. More accurately, there are far too many big government progressive fascists on both sides of the aisle who are people of the government, by the government, and for the government.

This government needs to be routed. There needs to be extreme anti-incumbency for the next several election cycles. We need true representatives again, brave people interested in returning this nation back to its fundamental and constitutional republic moorings. The Federal Reserve needs to be immediately and completely abolished and gold restored as the standard for the dollar. There needs to be severe and swift cuts to the size and power of the federal government, starting with the abolishment of more than a dozen unconstitutional, bloated, federal institutions such as the DOE, ED, DHS, HHS, HUD, DOL, TSA, and over a dozen other wasteful bureaucracies. We need brave people who are willing to run for office and get this done.

I’ve read news of this story from several sources and it seems clear that Boehner is a weak and ineffectual leader. The way this saga has played out is further proof that big government neocon progressives are still calling the shots in the GOP. We need to cut $10T over 4 years. Cutting $4T over 10 years is a drop in the bucket. Scaling that back to a cut of merely $2T over ten years in an insult. It would be adding injury to insult if this compromise was attached to any kind of agreement to raise the debt ceiling. That would be tantamount to a 2012 GOP presidential candidate’s concession speech.

We have barely scratched the surface. Much more work needs to be done to rout the big government neocon philosophy out of the GOP. People need to get out and support fresh new politicians with fresh new ideas.

I’m so disgusted with big-government progressives like McCain. Neo-Con’s like McCain and Bush, and Socialists like Obama and Pelosi, are merely two sides of the same coin. They are all in favor of growing the size, the reach, the power, the influence, and the cost of government. They will put their own spin on things but in the end they all look to increase govt revenues, increase govt spending, increase govt control of our lives, and sustain any federal institution or program that does. They are people of the government, by the government, and for the government.

I say throw them all out. This election is not about Democrats vs Republicans. This election is about people vs big government. I am looking for brave, honest, simple candidates who speak to the people and for the people. The moment I hear one candidate talk about preserving big government programs, or increasing the size or cost of government, that’s when I take my vote elsewhere. I want to hear military and economic isolationism. I want to hear plans for quick, broad, and massive cuts in federal government programs and institutions. I never want to hear the words “too big too fail” ever again. I want companies, banks, and corporations to go bankrupt and dissolve if they are poorly run or no longer supported by the consumer. I hope dishonest McCain comes out of the closet and declares his leftuality.
