in 2000, after the election, my father and I traveled to Ft Lauderdale to protest against the Demoncrap's attempt to steal our election. I was the one carrying the 2 yr old boy. I had printed up signs from graphic artists here on FreeRepublic. Sore/Loserman and Cheaties. Big Hey to everyone who was there with us. This morning my son came to me and said he was ready to defend liberty again. And this time he'd carry a the sign. Papa is dead, but I'll take his place. Thank God for America, my father and my son. Let's go TRUMP!

Dear Viewer, Thanks for your recent letter about the controversy surrounding CBS News, and their reporting on President Bush's National Guard service. It is a difficult situation for us at here at Local 8 News. We have been a CBS affiliate for more than 50 years, and we are proud of that affiliation. But, while we are affiliated with CBS, we are not owned by them. They provide us with programming, everything from CSI to The CBS Evening News. We provide them with local news video when they need it. We do not have any say in CBS News policy...

Wishing all of you a contemplative D-Day. Seems poetic that President Reagan would pass away as we celebrate the 60-year anniversary. Sixty years since we began the difficult slog to free millions in Europe, and right in the middle of our efforts to free millions in Afghanistan, Iraq and beyond. Reagan's 1964 speech below: http://odur.let.rug.nl/~usa/P/rr40/speeches/the_speech.htm ____________________________ Not sure if this interview has made it into the western press, nor do I have any way to confirm the details of the translation, but I hope it is true: Marek Edelman is the last surviving military leader of the heroic...

I appreciate the care packages and heartfelt notes that some of you have sent. I take them down to the R+R building and use the opportunity to ask some soldiers how things are going in Iraq. You can learn more from a few minutes talking to a private or specialist than you can reading hours worth of official reports, and I would like to relate one story. The soldier I spoke with was pulling security at an Iraqi police station when the station came under attack. I had read some reports about the attack, and knew that the fighting had...

I knew that the press slant meant that much of the good news in the war on terror was suppressed, but not until I came over here did I realize how significant the impact was: 1. Terrorism: The State Department summarizes the impact of terrorism every year. The 2003 report concludes that fewer acts of international terror occurred in 2003 than in any of the previous 30 years. Why didn't CNN or AP or the networks trumpet this success in the war on terror? 2. Al Hurra: Earlier this year we funded a TV station, Al Hurra, to broadcast to...

Based on my last note, several people pointed out that Iraq is like Vietnam in the following sense: The war can be lost if the press and self-serving politicians are able to distort the truth (as with the Tet offensive) enough to turn significant American public opinion against the efforts in Iraq. Contractors: I understand that idiots like Michael Moore are calling contractors over here "mercenaries." From what I have seen and heard, the American contractors who have been hired by the US government are providing a vital service in a number of different areas. Some deal with security and...

Greetings from Qatar. I am working on the CFSOCC-JOC-AFG-HOA-JSOAC desk. Only the military could come up with something like that. It took me the first 3 days here just to learn what the letters meant, so here goes - Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command - Joint Operations Center - Afghanistan - Horn of Africa - Joint Special Operations Aviation Command. While that may sound pretty interesting, it is in fact mostly grunt work and we are well out of the line of fire.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that they are almost always wrong. The problem with conspiracy theorists is that they ignore the admonition that while everyone can have their opinions, not everyone can have their facts. The key to development of these wacky theories is to assemble as many disparate “facts” as possible, create a few half-truths or outright lies, then stir them up and hope something sticks. Last year the hot theories were that a neoconservative “cabal” ruled the world and /or that the Bush administration knew about the attacks of Sept. 11th in advance. The latest adventure, which...

Measuring Success in Iraq By Scott C. Pierce and Charles J. McLaughlin Measuring success in Iraq has proven to be a difficult task. Backers of the administration tout the thousands of schools opened, the capture of Saddam and the impressive achievements on a timeline relative to reconstruction in Japan and Germany. Critics of the administration keep a daily body count of American casualties, develop a conspiracy theory every week concerning Halliburton and claim that we are not safer even with Saddam in captivity. Most Americans, while supportive of the war, the capture of Saddam and the performance of President Bush,...

CPT Dan Morgan I have spent eleven months in Iraq fighting this war as a company commander, starting from the berm in Kuwait to Mosul, Iraq. My soldiers and I have learned a tremendous amount of lessons, shared many successes, and witnessed horrific injuries on our fellow soldiers. We never failed to conduct an AAR or hotwash after an operation, despite the success, failure, or casualties. I want to share some TTPs and SOPs with as many as possible because this fight ebbs and flows with short, shocking violence that “always being prepared” becomes more than just a cliché. You...

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf--Attributed to George Orwell Orwell surely had men like Lieutenant General William “Jerry” Boykin in mind when he spoke those words. Though the recent controversy surrounding Lt. Gen. Boykin’s faith-inspired remarks has died down, those who will decide Boykin’s fate should keep Orwell’s words in mind. Although Boykin’s comments were insensitive (isn’t “rough” an antonym for “sensitive”?), they should not be cause for relief or dismissal. Instead of calls for his firing, this general deserves respect for his continuing service...

I hope this finds you all enjoying the new year. Pretty good year for the good guys in 2003 - no large domestic terrorist attacks, a surging economy, Libya coming clean about WMD development, N. Korea giving in on their initial demands, Liberia calmed with measured U.S. intervention, Health Savings Accounts passed into law, more tax relief phased in and then the nice icing of Saddam's capture. If only the Sox had beaten the Yankees! Anyone following the controversy surrounding LTG Boykin several months ago may have interest in the Op Ed attached below. This ran in the Raleigh News...

The Thunder Run'Are you kidding, sir?': Fewer than 1,000 soldiers were ordered to capture a city of 5 million Iraqis. Theirs is a story that may become military legend.By David ZucchinoNine hundred and seventy-five men invading a city of 5 million sounded audacious, or worse, to the U.S. troops assigned the mission outside Baghdad last April 6. Ten years earlier, in Mogadishu, outnumbered American soldiers had been trapped and killed by Somali street fighters. Now some U.S. commanders, convinced the odds were far better in Iraq, scrapped the original plan for taking Baghdad with a steady siege and instead ordered...

Earlier this year someone ran a post comparing tax cuts to 10 men dividing a resturant check. It really hit home how "tax cuts for the rich" is a demoncrap fabrication. Can someone please repost this? Thanks.

My 4 yr old son asked me this morning, "Daddy, what is freedom?" How do you answer that in words or themes he'd understand? Thanks for the help

I figured Vanity is the best place to post this. It's the first time I've posted anything other than a reply so please go easy on me. I've just started a company to provide "outsourced IT." It's an off-shoot of an engineering company I'm a partner in. We found that our current customer base needed an IT department while not being able to afford a full time IT person. So, for a fraction of what a full time person would cost, we provide the service for them. And any other business with similar needs. While I've been self employed for...
