President Obama has been intimately associated with this issue before. You can find his position by googling “President Obama, Born Alive Infant Protection Act.”

Briefly, while Mr. Obama was serving in the Illinois state legislature, children who survived abortions at a Chicago area hospital affiliated with his church were being placed in a soiled utility room to die. Legislation was introduced to ensure basic human rights for these children. As chair of the Health & Human Services Committee, Mr. Obama voted against this legislation.

This is an issue of integrity. How can you trust someone who advocated misrepresentation and character attacks to teach children?

I'd say the School Board made a good decision on this one.

The point of the show isn't about actually stopping the Whaling ship, it's about inf lamming public opinion against whalers and the Japanese. The show repeatedly shows the image of a flailing whale in a sea of bloody water as it is being killed. I rarely watch TV, but the image is shown every five minutes on the program, correct? That and the image of a young Japanese man hurling something angrily in the direction of the viewers, right? These images repeatedly cycle across your screen as an idealistic group of helpless and harmless animal lovers are incapable of stopping the slaughter, right?

The incompetence of the activists is part of the “drama” of the series in a “Real World” sort of way, but the entire point of the show is not to stop a particular whaling ship, it is to “raise public awareness” about the killing of whales, while gently suggesting, as liberals like to do, that “someone should do something about this.”

The show is one giant "Free Tibet" sticker. It will guarantee donations to radical environmental organizations for years to come. Yes, it may be impossible for a small crew of screw-ups in international waters to do much, but with a liberal media and court system behind them here, they can do real damage.

Here are a couple of links covering President Obama’s record on restricting gun ownership and usage, while supporting infanticide and abortion.

    For guns:

    http://www.ontheissues.org/domestic/barack_obama_gun_control.htm

Here is a good set of links relating to President Obama’s stand against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act:

Killing the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois

The Born Alive Infant Protection Act is very simple, and is designed to protect children after birth. In attacking the Act, Mr. Obama advocated for infanticide, and when referring to children who survived abortions, he used the phrase, “which some would call a child.”

So if President Obama is for killing children, what is his motivation for wanting to ban guns?

Obama administration's Press Secretary Gibbs: “...the problem that many American's struggle with, the high cost of health care...”

Shouldn't politicians be more concerned about the problem that many American's struggle with, the high cost of government? Our political system is being undermined by corruption, dishonesty and incompetence. Our government is well known to be wasteful, inefficient, and frequently ineffective, e.g. the public school systems in many parts of the country. The response by the Obama team's lawyers and politicians to say they now want practice medicine. Why can't they start doing the job they were hired to do, rather than attempting to take over someone else's job, a job for which most of them have very little understanding?

If they want to practice medicine, they should go to medical school, if they want to govern, start cutting waste and working to deliver a better product at a reduced cost, like the rest of the country does.

The implosion is already happening. Our country could be in for very rocky times if cooler heads do not prevail in Congress and the White House. People are laughing b/c they are relieved that the toxic agenda of the liberal statists is being slowed or stopped as their true intentions become known.

We, however, continue to be in danger due to epic levels of incompetence by this administration. We are talking about ineptitude of historic proportions that could end up costing us much, much more than it already has. Pray for our nation and our president.

“I say let him propose the fund in, His Budget.”

The current president has a habit of voting “present” on difficult decisions. This $200,000,000 may simply be the poison pill needed to make this trial go away. I'm not sure where this funding would come from, but if congress members are put in a position where they have to vote on a massive amounts of funding to proceed with the Barrack Hussein Obama/Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Kabuki dance, they will have to vote “no”, and thereby cut off funding for the trial. The trial would be taken out of President Obama’s hand's without him having to actually do anything publicly.

Good thing we elected such a competent leader. He not only engineers brilliant problems, he also develops brilliant solutions while merely putting tax payers on the hook for over a quarter of a billion dollars to pay for a circus nobody but the leftists and terrorists want. (Remember, this $200,000,000 is only for security costs during the first year. That does not cover the cost of the legal proceedings themselves, nor does it cover the cost of the sham trial should it last for more than one year.

This is fine. After all, Mr. Obama is going to use his own money to pay for this right? He and his limousine liberal friends will be the ones donating the $200 million to help defray the cost of security for the first year of this trial, right?

Since this trial was their brilliant liberal idea, it's absolutely appropriate that they contribute toward the cost of managing this circus. After all, none of us wanted to to try an unlawful enemy combatant in a civilian court of law, where, KSM could be acquitted on a technicality, like the president's personal terrorist friends Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dorn were, as I am sure that President Obama is perfectly well aware. Or desperate and corrupt liberal politicians could bring undue pressure to bear upon the court system (think SOTUS 2010) to get them off the hook for their bad decision by running a show trial, thereby further undermining our judicial system. Or terrorists could be acquitted, but detained indefinitely, making a mockery of the whole court proceedings. Good thing we have a President in charge who "taught constitutional law," and that he's not only thinking through the implications of his diktats before inflicting them upon us, but he's also paying for his own brilliant decisions out of his own well-lined pockets.

I'm sure this is the case. As much as professional politicians make a point of flagrantly mismanaging and wasting our money, I'm sure they wouldn't stoop to something this crass and stupid without kicking in some small amount of the wealth the amassed on the public dime.

‘Cause unlike liberals, I earn my living by backbreaking labor, and I would be really pissed if I found out they were taxing me to pay for this farce.

The measures contained a bribe. Oregon was hit early and hit hard by unemployment, with the rate hitting 12.1% when much of the rest of the country was still in the single digits. The measure offered relief on unemployment taxes to many people who hadn't saved the money to pay for it. We're talking about one out of every eight voters in Oregon, many of whom were starting to wonder how they were going to pay those taxes. Ultimately it was probably the nationally funded public union employees who stood to gain the most by this, and their turnout probably accounted for most of the margin. As voters figure out what just happened in the Beaver State, their will be a backlash against the liberal politicians.

A suggestion for those who did save money for the unemployment benefit tax, and who voted against the measure despite that meaning that they would have had to pay higher taxes. Perhaps you could use your extra savings to buy AK-47’s and save them up for a rainy decade. Just a thought.

The campaign was heavily financed by public employee unions, and there was very little advertised dissent. The measures were sold as an emergency measure to fund the public school system during a tough economic time, and said to be backed by the league of women voters and the AARP. Most people were probably unaware there even was a measure.

I would expect a very severe backlash from this during the next gubernatorial campaign. The measures involve retroactive taxes, and will kill jobs. Expect a highly motivated subset of the population to become activated over this one. The public employee unions and government bureaucrats just screwed their fellow citizens over during the worst recession in a quarter of a century.

The Obama administration has changed its story on this one. They originally assured us that they could get more information from the bomber by offering him a plea deal. Well, he's pled not guilty to all charges, so there is currently no plea deal, hence no information about the people who would like to kill us all. So they have conveniently changed the story to make it sound like there was no more info to be gleaned from the bomber.

Do you feel like your tax dollars are paying for competent government? Or do you feel like big government is overcharging you and providing you with a very shoddy product?

Notice the White House has changed their story on this. Originally they said they could get information out of the bomber by offering him a pleas deal. Well, he didn't cut a deal. He pled not guilty to all charges on January 8. No bargain and no more information given. Now President Obama switches the story, and his press secretary tells us there was nothing more to learn anyway. An absolutely incredible claim. Do you feel safer about flying now?

This is oddly reminiscent of the smear campaign connected to the left leanign Public Relations Firm E.S. Winner and Associates. Ethan Winner ran a dishonest smear campaign against Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential elections, containing lies. Not being a very bright fellow, however, he chose to use professional voice talent for his smear campaign before attempting to get it to go viral on Youtube. Folks recognized the voice and the fact that it looked like it had been produced by a professional PR firm, and linked it back E.S. Winner and associates. Ethan claimed responsibility when folks started contacting the large firms that use E.S. Winner and associates, and it was made to sound like an isolated incident that had nothing to do with Barrack Obama or E.S. Winner and Associates. My understanding is that Ethan's sister, however, who I understand to be a strident abortion supporter, also had some connection to the scandal. Perhaps these hacks are at it again?

“I’d like to think we are well led but there is no evidence to support that position.”

I have no such illusions. Our president is incompetent, dishonest, and corrupt, and he tends to display poor judgment, probably because he has little experience dealing with his mistakes honestly. We are not being well led. General Emmanual is making a lot of our policy, with predictable consequences. Some of us are basically hoping that our president has a life changing experience that causes him to be a better man. Failing that, we hope external factors will compel him to follow good advice, and stop pursuing clearly flawed policies and treating his tenure like a small-time political campaign carried out in a corrupt backwater with media complicity. He ran as a blank slate, a “fresh face.” That ship has sailed. He doesn't seem to appreciate that, nor does he seem to appreciate the fact that we can actually examine a factual record of his past rhetoric and actions and note that the discrepancies are glaring. He still thinks he's in Chicago.
