Jenny Beth Martin, President and Co_founder of the Tea Party Patriots organization, was the guest interviewee on this week's Q&A on C-Span, aired earlier this evening and scheduled for repeat at 11:00 EDT. She discusses the founding and growth of the organization, its activities and goals, and some of its difficulties with the IRS and establishment GOP. She does a great job of handling host Brian Lamb's barbed questions about Tea Party "racism" and possible conflicts of interest with her own involvement in the organization.

C-Span3 is carrying the election returns live from Scotland - so far no's are winning by 59-41%, but only 3 of the smaller 32 councils (states) have reported - final results are not expected for about another four hours......

Midway through the fist half-hour of the Limbaugh show this afternoon the air suddenly went dead for a couple minutes - then audio returned with a clip of the supposed awful Bundy talk on "negroes" et al - then another minute or two of dead air, finally cutting back to Rush in mid-sentence. Thinking that I'm not that far around the bend yet, I'm wondering who else experienced this? - was it just in the Philly area, or more widespread - or are the hallucination starting after all....

Mark Levin is the scheduled guest on this month's "In-Depth" on C-Span2 today, Sunday January 5th at noon EST. The program will give Mr. Levin three hours of TV/air time to discuss his philosophy and books and to respond to viewers' comments and questions. Live and unrehearsed - should be fun.

Breitbart.com's Editor-At-Large Ben Shapiro is this month's scheduled guest on C-Span2's "In-Depth", set for noon EDT today, 1 September. The program features three hours of live discussion on Shapiro's thoughts and works, which includes his latest book, "Bullies". Shapiro will also respond to questions and comments from viewers.

C-Span2 has announced that Dr. Ben Carson will be the scheduled guest on this month's "In-Depth" program on Sunday, August 4th. Dr. Carson is the chief surgeon in the pediatric neurosurgical section of Johns Hopkins who told Obama to his face exactly what he thought of his policies and activities at a prayer breakfast last winter. In-Depth is C-Span2's first-Sunday-of-every-month program which features authors who are interviewed about their work and life and who respond to e-mails and calls from viewers for three hours - a chance to hear more about Dr. Carson's philosophy, disagreement with many things Obama, and...

This month's "In-Depth" featured writer Melanie Phillips and will be repeated tonight at Midnight EDT on C-Span2. Three hours of interesting commentary and replies to viewers by a wise and thoughtful woman who, for example, provides a spot-on defense of traditional marriage as being a "unique fusing" of two individuals which is necessary for society because it is the way "we produce humanity", yet partially blames traditional marriage for the current drive for gay-marriage because it has become merely a contractual, legal arrangement in many people's minds. Phillips is concerned with facts, but even more with how facts get hidden...

In case the link was buried and lost in previous threads, this is the Youtube video Here of Dr. Benjamin Carson's talk this morning at the congressional prayer breakfast in which he virtually destroys much of what Obama stands for, from political correctness to punishing the rich and successful to Obamacare - while Obama has to sit there and listen to the whole presentation - and the libs can't even demonize the good doctor as being racist..... No wonder Obama wants everyone to believe that what's said at prayer breakfasts is always forgotten before the day is done.........

Anyone wanting to understand the beginnings of great economic collapse of 2008 should start with the book "Reckles$ Endangerment", by Gretchen Morgenson and Joshua Rosner. Mortgenson is finally interviewed by Brian Lamb on this week's C-Span Q&A, and gets to tell a bit of the story of how government mismanagement and outright corruption in the early 90's set the stage for the wrecked economy in the late 00's. Lamb, for some reason, tries his best to turn a lot of the blame to Republicans, and Morgenson does the obligatory "both sides of the aisle" routine, but the names you'll hear...

Mark Steyn, author of "America Alone" and other conservative writings, is appearing right now on this month's In-Depth from C-Span2 - program will run to 3:00PM Eastern (with taped repeats tonight) and is live with Steyn discussing his works and answering questions from viewers via email and phone callins.......

This month's guest on C-Span2's In Depth, Sunday 6 February from noon to 3PM EST, is R. Emmett Tyrrell, founder and editor in chief of the American Spectator magazine. Tyrrell has written a number of books including the most recent "After the Hangover: the Conservatives' Road to Recovery", and will be taking calls and emails from viewers as well as discussing his philosophy and writing......

It's that time of the month again - no not that time - it's the first Sunday, time for C-Span2's BookTV In-Depth, featuring three hours of interview/questions and answers from maybe your favorite author. This being conservative month, the guest for today, November 7, is Jonah Goldberg, author of works including "Liberal Fascism" and "Proud to be Right". Goldberg will discuss his philosophy and writings, and reply to comments and questions from viewers' emails, phone calls, and Tweets. Program starts at noon EST.

C-Span will repeat today's Q&A on the new documentary "The Lottery", with Brian interviewing Medeleine Sackler, the producer-director, starting at 11:00 EDT. Sackler set out to follow the attempts of four youngsters in Harlem to gain admission to charter schools, where their parents believed they would receive better education than in the regular public school system. Charter schools are partially supported by public funds, but also by private money, and accordingly are not forced to operate under many of the restrictions facing the public system, including especially unionized teachers. Repeat of tonight's Q&A on C-Span begins at 11:00 PMEST with an hour of interview of Fred Grandy by Brian Lamb. Grandy is the former "Gopher" on "Love Boat", Republican congressman from Iowa, and current self-proclaimed conservative co-host of the "Grandy and Andy" talk radio show on WMAL in DC.

Clearly something must be up with AARP. Why else would the nation's largest lobbying organization, sworn to protect the interests of senior citizens, watch silently as Congress plans to cut Medicare spending by $400 billion to pay for its health reform legislation? Saw John Goodman somewhere on TV today discussing the website "Free Our Healthcare Now!" and its related petition calling for an insurance based medical sustem free of government interference. Goodman along with several others authored the book "Lives at Risk" which investigated and detailed the foibles and failures of nationalized healthcare around the world. Sunday's Q&A session with Mona Charen and Ruth Marcus is scheduled for rebroadcast this morning at 5:50 - 6:50 AMEDT on C-Span. Moderated by Brian Lamb, the program explores the political and cultural interests and views of this odd couple, who in fact went to the same high school together and claim to be friends. The program includes excerpts from a similar interview with the two from three years ago, giving them the chance to revise and extend some of their comments. Interesting to hear them go at topics such as the nature of man and the need for government...

This morning's interview-callin with Daniel Hannen is scheduled for repeat on C-Span at 1:15 AM EDT. Hannen is the conservative Member of Parliament who pretty much demolished Gordon Brown in his speech earlier this week which was replayed widely on US television. He is in London for this interview and takes calls from US viewers.

It was announced this evening that the Philadelphia "Daily News" soon would no longer publish as an independent newspaper, but instead would begin printing as a separate "edition" of the Philadelphia "Inquirer". Both papers are owned by the same parent company which announced only last week that it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In doing so the company insisted that the filing was only to reduce its debt load, and that current operations were financially strong for both papers - - - maybe not.......
