What is the story with the TSA? I flew from one airport and during the screening process they stated, "You don't need to remove your shoes." At another airport, they stated, "You must remove your shoes." I was wearing the same shoes in both cases. About 10 months ago, I asked a TSA screener if I should remove my shoes. He said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to?" I responded that removing them was his call not mine. What is the story with these guys. Seems like we need more training for consistency across the nation.

We all are hearing about impending attacks, but what are the ramifications to the US economy and the lives of our citizens. Certainly people would probably be killed, but depending on the attack, the ramifications could be minor to severe on the US economy. If a radiological bomb was detonated in NY or DC, it would create mass panic and certainly a short-term sell-off on Wall St. I'm also wondering about the same thing happening on the Arabian Penisula, thus reducing the flow of oil. Flying out of Orlando International Airport yesterday, I encountered EXTREMELY long lines and assorted delays that will doom the airline industry. Southwest Airlines had up to 1.5 hours wait at the ticket counter, and other smaller airlines were at least 1 hour. Long waits (30 minutes) at security checkpoints were next. Then, I witnessed an 80+ year old woman, bound to a wheel chair, who was made to stand while they checked her for "dangerous objects" with a hand metal wand. Bag screening is a joke. The news agencies today have announced that a North Korean ship was boarded off the coast of Africa. Its cargo was 12 skud missles, destination unknown. North Korea states (although not confirmed) that it has nuclear weapons. If so, toppling that regime is very difficult. North Korea also has over 1 million members in its armed services. I personally see them as just as big a threat as Saddam and Al Queda. How do you suggest we deal with this threat?

There is a bounty of evidence to support that China is now the main sponsor of terrorism in the world. While it is impractical to wage a military campaign against them, it seems that by removing terrorism around the globe will isolate China and force them to change.
