My grandson has been accepted into the Business School at the University of Michigan, and we are all happy for him. Here is the dilemma. They strongly advise that all incoming student have a PC, not a Mac. Since we are all Mac users from way back, we do not know enough about PCs to make an intelligent purchase. We do know that Macs can run PC software partitioned, but it seems that there are some software programs that do not run well on partitioned Macs (proprietary, maybe?) So can you all offer to help, without turning it into a...

As the smoke clears and the body count mounts from the appalling Islamic terrorist attack on the shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, the fact that Obama had a personal hand in paving the way for groups like Al-Shabab to flourish in that part of Africa gets no coverage.

Zimmerman’s defense team was basically blindsided by what West called yet another “trick” of treachery by the prosecution, and his highly alarmed frustration was also largely in reaction to Judge Debra Nelson’s continued refusal to allow defense attorneys Mark O’Mara and himself (and their volunteer staff interns) enough time to do the behind-the-scenes work of preparing their responses to each new development, each new revelation of state chicanery officially approved by this judge.

A story and two questions on the New York state English exam taken by eighth-graders this week has stumped many — including Jeopardy! star Ken Jennings. The story — titled The Pineapple and the Hare — was included in a New York Daily News story about the consternation the questions have caused.

I am watching Corzine, since it has the potential to take down the entire system. Which is worse, the corruption of our entire financial system, or the corruption of our justice system. Or is everything just about "gone down the drain", and the USA, as we once knew it, over.

........ "This is the game being played to "pump confidence" in the stock market. The Fed comes in and "POMOs" their so-called MBS "rolloffs", and the money immediately goes into speculation. This drives up equity prices, but it drives down the dollar by more (about 12% since this new "POMO" program began in June) and in turn this is immediately reflected in higher commodity prices." .......

Found this in the web. It is possibly where Moochelle got that outfit she was wearing. I didn't check to see if the spray-on came in shiny black, but I am sure she had it custom made, just for her lovlieness. Here is the link. Posting stuff sure has gotten harder for us old-timers... http://beforeitsnews.com/story/178/345/Make_Clothes_Out_of_a_Can_With_Spray-On_Fabric.html

OK, I am fed up. My personal email has been flooded with multiple emails from the yahoo FR backup list, and I am sick of it. Those of you sending stuff to the yahoo list, cut it out, right now! Today, I have been bombarded, and have gone to my control preferences, sending all messages immediately to "junk", which is automatically deleted from my computer. If yahoo e-mail lists are that easily co-opted, I think we all should go cancel the FR yahoo account. Maybe I am having a bad night? Is anyone else getting flooded with unwanted, unimportant, redundant,...

Perhaps its time. There have been a number of people on the forum talking about this, with one of the most recent converts being "iflyjetzzz". Look, we can rant and rave about market manipulation and government-sponsored games. We can petition the SEC, the FBI and Congress. We can demand that they stop it all we want. But they haven't and likely won't until and unless America gets pissed off enough to force them to act. So how do we make that happen, yet remain within the law? Its not that hard, and in the intermediate and longer-term it would be...

I am heading to do the weekly marketing tomorrow, and I am going to buy a box of tea bags. I am calling on all true Freepers to go get a box of tea bags, and start mailing them, one by one, to every member of congress. Perhaps this kind of silent protest will let these idiots know that we are fed up with the nonsense going on there, and that we are the employer, and not the fat cat lobbyists, Wall Street players, union bosses, and assorted envirowhackies, feminazis, and codepinkers. Zillions of tea bags, reminding them that we...

he new Republican presidential candidate must be agile, quietly brilliant, intuitively political, a cross between Franklin Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan -- overwhelmingly charming and deceptive enough to achieve our national goals without anyone seeing his lips or his fingers move. Who's waiting in the Republican wings that fits that description? Few, if any. ... .....So how does one choose the right man? C. Northcote Parkinson of Parkinson's Law fame had the answer. For every impossible job -- as per Winston Churchill or FDR in World War II or Reagan in the Cold War -- there is only one person who...

This must be seen, and sent to whichever media might get permission to show it. It is the best tribute to our military ever! http://www.glennbeck.com/tribute.htm

Any one else fed up, burned out, etc? I am just about at the end of my rope with all the DC nonsense. Like, what the heck does it have to do with us in "fly-over-land? I am really tired, and wish these idiots we elected would gather some common sense, but am not about to hold my breath. They are mesmerised by the DC snakes, and the heck with us lowly tax-payers. How do we grab these fools by the short-hairs, and get them to recognize that without us they are "nothing". Heading for sleep now, am tired and...

I suggest we all ink a finger blue, indelibly, and proudly wave it everywhere we go. This will show support for the citizens of Iraq, but most importantly, it will show support for our brave sons and daughters who have sacrificed so much for them, and for us. If we get enough people to do it, maybe the MSM will pick it up, and our military and the Iraquis will see an outward and visible sign of our stance. And maybe some of our "loyal opposition" will finally find a clue.

This brave young man and his family need our prayers. Please visit the website, and read the journal, see the photos, and pray for all of them, and for the medical team at Walter Reed. http://www2.caringbridge.org/dc/danielgade/index.htm I know many here pray daily for all our soldiers and their families. As a mom of a WP grad, class of '90, I am hoping that special prayers will be added for Daniel and his family

Please, we need your prayers for Irene. She is in end stage renal failure, and is having heart, stroke, and all sorts of complications. She has been moved via ambulance to St. Vincent's in Erie, PA. Please pray for her team of doctors there, for Jessie and Chris, her son and daughter-in-law, and for her husband, Pat Reilly. They are good people, up against a big problem. Irene is too young to have to face this crisis, and needs angels around her and all that are caring for her. I know the power of prayer. Please pray for her and...

Toronto's most notorious export, may have spread in this tightly knit university town. With one confirmed case of SARS in its midst, employees at a University of North Carolina support building learned yesterday two more of their colleagues are in isolation and suffering from respiratory illness. The news heightened anxiety among the town's residents. "We are very highly concerned," North Carolina state epidemiologist Dr. Jeffrey Engel said in an interview. "That concern will last until we can determine whether there have been secondary infections in this case." Pete Reinhardt, director of health and safety at UNC, said the two show...

Health officials powerless to squelch rumors By KEN McLEMORE and PAT HARRIS, Hope Star Writers Federal privacy rules in effect slightly more than a month are rendering local, state and national health officials powerless to prevent the spread of rumors that a Canadian truck driver has been in isolation at Medical Park Hospital since Friday with a "probable" case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Arkansas Department of Health Deputy Medical Director Dr. Joe Bates first confirmed the presence of a "probable" SARS case in Arkansas in a news account published Sunday in a state newspaper. At that time, Dr....

TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian officials will discuss on Wednesday whether the deadly SARS virus escaped from hospitals to the broader community after a Toronto-area high school student went to class last week with symptoms of the illness. Health services said late on Tuesday they would hold a news conference on Wednesday to discuss "possible SARS exposure" at the school, as authorities tried to contact everyone who attended the school between last Wednesday and last Friday. The investigation into a possible case at the school comes as medical staff at some Toronto hospitals, fearing they allowed SARS back into a city...

Listening to Fox News today, I heard several times over the course of the afternoon, some brief reports that the computers controlling the power grid were being "hacked" "pinged" or tested in some way, and that this was coming from the middle east. Then, John Gibson had an interview on the 5:00 PM show (Eastern Time) discussing this effort with an expert, (didn't get the name), and I became concerned. Am I the only one who heard this story, and why isn't it getting more coverage, if true! Y2K all over again? I don't think I could take it!
