Our friend Andrew at Buzzfeed dug up something that should make America facepalm:

THE RESULTS of the special election, while largely expected, are truly remarkable for what they reveal about who we are as a state and the current nature of our political landscape. They are not just important because they may end up being Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Waterloo, but also because they show so clearly that our political discourse is terribly broken, perhaps far beyond repair.

Newt really handled himself well on Piers Morgan tonight, taking on the Obama administration for their one sided view of the Muslim world with respect to their apologies over the Koran burning. Piers Morgan approached all of his questions from the perspective that Obama has handled the situation well, only to have Newt hit back hard over how it should have been handled. This is excellent:

A woman who called in to Levin tonight tipped me off to this speech Newt gave today. He reportedly drew 4,000 people, as many as Santorum did in the same venue. The video runs 67 minutes, with the Speaker starting around 6:30. As usual, he does a superb job, blending his stump speech with new ideas and commentary on recent news. Students asked questions for the last 20 or so minutes. There are many standing ovations, but the biggest concerns a Chevy Volt and a gun rack. Go Newt.

Every victim of a crime in Michigan is entitled to make a statement in open court regarding the impact of the crime on their life. Mitt Romney’s father, George Romney, has been invoked on the campaign trail often. Newt Gingrich used his release of 12 years’ of tax records as an example to push his rival to release his own tax returns. On Thursday night, Romney mentioned the fact that his father was born in Mexico in response to Gingrich’s allegations that he is “anti-immigrant,” which raises the question: If George Romney was born in Mexico, how could he run for president?
