It seems to me that neo-conservatives are former liberal Alan Alda-sensitive-guy types who let their party be overrun with hardcore, committed Leftists. Having destroyed the Democrat party by their wishy washy, feel-good looney liberalism, they now declare themselves neo-conservatives so they can push their wishy washing, feel-good liberalism on us. In other words, they want to be big fishes in a unpolluted pond so they can trash our party, too.

Funny, it didn't bother the left-of-Lenin Independent when Bill Clinton was The Most Powerful Man in the Free World.

I don't oppose aid to keep our farms solvent. After ten years of neglect by the Clintonistas, farmers need money to stay solvent. I don't know about you, but I surely don't want to buy my food from Mexico, Canada, Germany, or God knows where else.

If you're irrelevant and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're irrelevant and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're irrelevant and you know it, then you will surely show it.
So it's better to admit it right away.

The International Criminal Court could give life to the growing commitment to securing human rights and popular sovereignty through international cooperation.

The international community has done a great job of promising an ever-growing list of human rights but failing to protect human life. In Rwanda. In South Africa. In the Sudan. In Algeria. In Malaysia. In India. In Pakastan. In Columbia. In Peru. In Nepal.

Oh, I forget. Those are the victims of "insurgents." Their lives are expendable in the cause of internationalism - socialism and communism.

I still think Hillary was the real ideologue in that family. On his own, Bill Clinton's instincts are not good, but he can talk his way out of it. Hillary is a committed Leftist. To her, the goal is nothing less than international socialism/communism. And like most women who have very little authority in real life, she would not flinch from imposing her ideal on others. By force, if necessary. He is more realistic. He understands that stealth is necessary and incremental is better than confrontation. Both he and Hillary have been saved more than once by an accomodating media for their missteps.

Working for some kind of understanding here....to me, the power of the Left has always been mass politics. A refinement has been the U.S. media elevation of the vulgar in order to destroy from within. A favorite dismissal of the West by Soviets was Western decadence. That's a perfect definition of pop culture.

The strength of the Left, however, is still the power to lull the senses, shallow the intellect, and while in the 1960s it was to energize, in this decade it will be to attack remaining institutions. There will be no final taboos.

"The proposal would also cover participation in peacekeeping operations that might put service members at risk of court jurisdiction."

I was hoping that the U.S. would actively work against the court. It's a ridiculous idea promoted by international socialists who still think in terms of the old Comintern. (Some habits die hard.)

Before the shooting in Erfurt, there were two other student shootings. Many Europeans were completely unaware of that fact until the Erfurt episode. There have always been shootings in Europe as in any other country. And the Hungarian incident appears to be a problem with open borders. The shooters might have been German.

The New York Times is actually working quite hard to formulate the "how can we turn this against the United States?" They specialize in supplying our enemies with arguments against us.

The only bright spot... (I seem to be seeing a lot of bright spots tonight. I may need a better monitor.)... is that 9/11 has been sobering for some Europeans, especially younger ones. Pim Fortuyn didn't materialize because of media infatuation. Quite the contrary, he died because of their hyperbolic opposition. If Dutch voters hold the media responsible, there is a chance for reforming motion.

That was always the beauty of the Clinton presidency. It raised false expectations in the European socialists who appear demoralized at the present time.

Sadly, I don't think colleges specialize in "education". It's strictly a teacher/government worker factory. It isn't the cost of education that is appalling. It's the value of it.

I wish I felt as optimistic about the death of the Left. I do not. They will not go quietly into the night. Having gained power by dubious means, they will not relinquish it easily. Virtually every European country is a coalition with no one party receiving more than 30% of the vote. Proportional representation, where it exists, means that even if you didn't get a single vote, you get a seat in the elected body.

Before they would relinguish power, they will resort to the daily violence that demoralized the Right in Europe in the 1970s. The Left will feign horror at terrorists' acts against their own citizens and, once again, offer to step in with the solution. And those solutions will be drastic. Those solutions will include eliminating the Right in the interest of peace. It will mean rapidly including former satellite countries to outvote Western Europe, who, having no currency of their own have no sovereignty.

  • Gays refute role as Catholics' 'scapegoat'

    05/10/2002 11:08:12 PM PDT · 3 of 29
    Janella to kattracks
Gays aren't the scapegoats. They are the cause of the crisis. First because they were, by and large, gay priests who preyed on boys. Secondly gays are the main instigators of the campaign against the Catholic Church. With unprovable claims of molestation conveniently filed beyond the statute of limitations with scummy lawyers, they hope to extort money and give grief to the Catholic Church.

They media encouraged this, even advanced it. While the original idea might have been to divert from the world situation, the gay activists have pushed for retribution against a Church they see as discriminatory. It's their chance to get even and punish the Vatican for their campaign to eliminate gays in the American Catholic Church. And it is an opportunity for gays who need the self-justification by claiming the Church made 'em do it.

The only bright lining in all this is that there is a real danger of alienating Hispanic Catholics. The isolation of the Left makes them think because they don't go to church, no one does.

They should sue the State of California. Davis likes to throw money around he doesn't have and he desperately needs the votes.
