I Went to the Atlanta Hamfestival this weekend and passed the tests: Technician, General and Extra all in one sitting! This all started when I made an impulse buy of a cheap, dual-band HT back in April. I had planned on testing just for the Technician class, but the more I studied, the more I thought I stood a chance at going from "Zero-to-Extra". I'd always been intersted in radios, starting back in the 70's CB era. Growing up, I had a fire-fighter Uncle who worked on radios on the side. I was always fascinated by his radio workshop and...

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- First, the good news. Last week, you contacted your congressional representatives and demanded a “short term” Continuing Resolution. They heard you, and every conservative in Washington is echoing this theme. Now for the bad news. Even though Republicans just won control of Congress, what’s the first “bright idea” the Republican leadership comes up with after their wave election? ANSWER: GIVE CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS CONTROL OF THE CONGRESS FOR THE NEXT TEN MONTHS!!!!! Thankfully, the overwhelming percentage of conservative Republicans in Washington are opposed to this. And that’s why we need to keep lighting the fire under them, so...

I hear freepers commenting on various voting strategies which include (but are not limited to): - Not voting for the GOP candidate (presumably Romney at this point) - Voting for the GOP candidate whoever it is (either *for* GOP or *against* Obama) - Sitting this one out - Writing in someone (based on principles or protest) - That it would somehow be better if Obama is re-elected so conservatives won't be blamed for the inevitable collapse/implosion. So as difficult as it may be for some, forget about your voting decision for the moment. My question is, "looking ahead to Wednesday,...
  • Herbert E. Meyer -- Revolution

Reading another post (Ten Top Reasons I'm Happy About The Glenn Beck Boycott) led me to a great article by Herbert E. Meyer. Meyer has written a cogent analysis of the current round of high-stakes political poker that is being played. From the article:--- "...now we can see clearly what's been happening in the United States during the last three decades. While conservatives have been working to improve our democracy and our free-market economy, liberals have been working to replace our democracy with a dictatorship, and our free-market economy with a command economy controlled by the government. The liberals couldn't...
