Just an update on the Letters from Home project. If you remember, I’m collecting letters for the men and women serving aboard the USS Russell. So far I’ve received a little over 50 letters. Remember, we’re looking for about 250, so we’ve got a long way to go yet. Once again, any help you all can give would be greatly appreciated. Please pass the word along to family and friends. Or, if you have a blog, please put up a post abou the project. Letters can be sent to letters@thinking-right.com.

Once again, I’m collecting letters of support for the men and women aboard the USS Russell - DDG-59. I’m aiming for about 250 letters, so it will be a smaller project than last time. I’ve received word back from the Marines who we sent the letters to late last year, and I can’t emphasize enough how important these letters are to them. It’s really not all that much to ask to sit down and write a short note of support to those putting it all on the line for us. Please send the emails to letters@thinking-right.com.

For those of you joining the party late, about two weeks ago I started a project intented to get an encouraging letter of support into the hands of every Marine and Sailor in the 1st battalion 1st Marine regiment. Along the way I’ve gotten a lot of help from other bloggers like Captain Ed, Hugh, Lex, Blackfive, my fellow RMA members, Jenn, and Lashawn to name a few. Groups such as Soldiers Angels have helped out as well.I just wanted to take a quick second and let everyone know how the project is going. I have officially broken the 300...

I’m working with the 1st Battalion 1st Marine Regiment to get every one of their soldiers a letter of support from home. This is where you, my readers, come in to the picture; I need you to write these men and women, and then spread the word about the project to everyone you can. We need about 1000 emails in order to get one to every Marine. Please put letters from home in the subject line. Update: The address I’ve set up for project Letters From Home is letters@thinking-right.com

***The opinions expressed in this interview are those of myself and the interviewee only and not necessarily those of the Army or the DOD*** I’ve had the great opportunity to work with Sgt. Keller at CENTCOM public affairs he and his superiors have graciously allowed this amateur internet journalist interview another soldier. This time, I spent some virtual time with SFC Smith who is serving his country in the area around Basra, Iraq. I would also like to thank SFC Smith for taking time out of his very busy schedule to spend time answering my questions. As I said during...

  • Coloradopols.com not as non-partisan as they claim

Despite the insistence of the authors of ColoradoPols.com that the site is nonpartisan, during the last election it became increasingly clear the site was nothing more than a vehicle for releasing opposition research on Republican candidates into the mainstream. The reality of the matter is ColoradoPols.com was a stealth project launched with the intention of manipulating media coverage in Colorado to favor Democrats. John J. Miller explained the forces at work behind the scenes in the article “The Color Purple” in the latest issue of National Review: The mini-Soroses of Colorado [Gill, Stryker, & Polis] aren’t merely dabbling in elections...

In his latest editorial on his website Bob Beckel calls Tom Delay a punk with a big mouth. Of course Mr. Beckel offers no proof to back up the baseless allegations he makes against Delay. Here is the editorial in it’s entirety: Just another Bully A Column by BBP Editor Bob BeckelTom Delay reminds me of a bully in my hometown high school. He scared people, told them he carried a switchblade, and would use it. He was a thug. One day he said something about my sister. He lasted 15 seconds, until he started to cry for his momma....

Most newspaper stocks were down following the latest release Monday of circulation data from the Audit Bureau of Circulation. The trade group said average weekday circulation at U.S. newspapers fell 2.6% for the six-month period ended Sept. 30. The news is the latest step in a grim march for newspapers, as increased Internet readership and other changing reader habits erode the subscriber base.
