the terry schivao comment was really pertient to this discussion. oh wait this isn't a discussion but a chance to bash someone who doesn't agree with you.
maybe prez kerry would have had federal relef workers closer to the scene a day or two earlier and more national guard units ready to go down there. and maybe he would have had soliders stationed in the states at the ready to swoop down with food and relief.

well to be perfectly honest, i am less the enthralled at our commander in chiefs job during this crisis. he knew days before hand that a possible cat 5 hurricane was going to hit the gulf coast somewhere. maybe he should have started to mobilize help for the region at that time. his speech on wednesday was less than inspiring. in fact it was a speech i would expect from a 5th grader who had time to prepare an oral report and wrote it that morning over his cocoa pebbles.

Unfortunatly, I think no child left behind is now a part of the decline of public schools. Kids are no longer able to learn how to critically think or develop their own opinions as they have to learn how to take the standardized tests they need to graduate.
