I’ve read “Love Wins”, and I’m convinced that he’s teaching universalism, even if he denies it. He may like to dodge questions and write in an ambiguous way, but his logic is clear: he believes everyone will go to heaven.

See my my thorough review on Amazon for more information, and give it Helpful vote if it helped you understand the book better. The review is by Fr. Charles Erlandson.

  • Video Shows Hot Springs Officer Choking, Wrestling Skateboarders

I live in Hot Springs and have been following this case. It’s wonderful publicity for us, especially after the incident with people stuck on the ride at Magic Springs became the subject of Letterman’s Top 10 a few weeks ago!

First, there are 3 skateparks in Hot Springs, and all the kids know about them.

Second, these kids chose to come in a group of 10 for a national skate day, part of whose stated purpose is to reclaim skateboarding as a life of rebellion.

Third, 70 merchants who are right there on Central Avenue signed a petition in favor of the cop. Several were eyewitnesses and all agree that what is being put out there, on YouTube, for example, doesn’t accurately reflect the whole situation.

This was a deliberate, staged, act of defiance that could have ended more peaceably at any time if the kids had complied at any stage of warning.

A minute ago NM was reporting 103% of the vote in, with Bush up by 30k. Now it's down to 98% of the vote in, with Bush only ahead by 1k.

Something is rotten in the state of New Mexico.

  • MICHAEL MOORE/O'REILLY SHOWDOWN AT CONVENTION [Drudge has embargoed transcript of interview]

O'REILLY BLEW IT! I only saw the last segment, but O'Reilly blew it. I think O'Reilly is sometimes soft on certain issues, but now I see him as soft as a journalist, too. In the last round of this "heavyweight fight" he had Moore right where he wanted him - reeling on the ropes. He asked the mandatory "Hitler" question, and Moore was on the ropes. Moore was wrong about Hitler's designs on the U.S., etc., and if O'Reilly had persisted, he could have shown the world the hypocrisy of Moore.

Instead, he allowed Moore to take over the show, and it became The Moore Factor for a few minutes. He should have insisted Moore answer his questions. Even if he decided to answer Moore on whether or not he would have sent his son to Fallujah, here's what he should have said: "You're asking the wrong question, Michael. The correct question is: 'Would I have been willing on September 12, 2001 to send my son to get rid of Saddam, whom the entire intelligence community of the world believed had WMDs, who in fact had already used WMDs, who refused to abide by UN resolutions, etc., knowing that as one of 200,000 soldiers we sent over he might be one of the indeterminate number of casualties?' Given that this was the situation as we knew it then, Yes, I would have sent my son."

I agree with dogbyte12. How can you fairly judge historical performance if you keep changing who is in the Dow? I may be missing something, but it appears as if whenever this happens that weaker companies are replaced by stronger ones, thus distorting what is really happening in the markets. When so much attention is paid to one index, it is easier and more tempting to manipulate perception. What does this do to all of the charts we've seen telling us how great the stock market has done historically?

There is a viable option for all orthodox Anglicans who want to maintain the historic worship, doctrine, and discipline of the Anglican tradition - and that is the Reformed Episcopal Church. They have 100% orthodox and conservative bishops and accept the Bible as their ultimate authority, as well as affirming the Creeds, the first four ecumenical councils, and the Thirty-Nine Articles. Anyone who is looking for an orthodox Anglican home in the U.S. should check them out.
