Don Lemon was terminated from his anchor role at CNN, he announced Monday. The news comes after Variety published a story earlier this month on allegations that he mistreated his female colleagues over the course of his career there. And earlier this year, he faced backlash over widely criticized comments he made on-air.

A San Jose community is in limbo and left wondering if their personal information, credit cards, and other packages are in the hands of a thief. That's because last week a surveillance camera captured someone clearing out a postal truck near the Evergreen community. The United States postal inspector is asking for the public's help to capture the suspect committing what they said is a very serious federal crime. Surveillance video from Sturla Drive shows a man, who is not a postal service employee, opening the sliding back door of a mail truck. He then brings in a woman, and...

Tom MacDonald is once again making his presence felt on the US iTunes platform. His latest success comes courtesy new single “Clown World,” which is off to a strong start on the hip-hop/rap and overall song sales charts. It meanwhile sits at #3 on the all-genre listing; only Elle King & Miranda Lambert’s “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” (#1) and Lauren Daigle’s “Hold On To Me” (#2) are currently selling at a faster pace. MacDonald’s recent releases have all been faring...

I had a traumatic injury at work, a broken bone which hopefully I'll eventually be permitted to see a specialist so I can begin my healing. In the meantime, it has been a tremendous upheaval in the household as I was the only person who drives. Thankfully I've got two people at home who can help me around. I'm wondering what or if ECOMP reimburses for needed equipment like a hand shower and transfer bench or if that just comes out of my pocket. I'm still trying to puzzle out how to get to their approved doctors who are over...

Despite a financial hit from the coronavirus pandemic, the Postal Service faces a tremendous workload. USPS has seen mail volume drop 25-to-30% during the pandemic, but about a 60% higher increase in package volume, leading senior agency officials to walk back more dire predictions of when the agency will run out of cash. While the Postal Service faces an uphill battle to stay solvent, its workforce of more than 600,000 employees has encountered a slew of challenges to keep up with the demand to deliver a volume of packages that sometimes rivals what they handle during the agency’s peak holiday...

Full title: Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan quarantined after passenger diagnosed with coronavirus Japanese authorities are racing to contain a possible outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus after it was revealed that an infected passenger flew into Tokyo and spent a few days aboard a Princess Cruises ship, forcing authorities to lock down the vessel and quarantine thousands of people on board. Of the 31 people who have been tested for the virus, 10 cases tested positive for the virus, Japan's Health Ministry said. Authorities are still waiting for the results of more than 100 other samples. This is the...

(excerpt middle...) Where the first caravans were allowed to pass through Mexican territory and even given humanitarian aid or transportation by many communities and some officials, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s administration changed that beginning last year in response to steep trade tariffs threatened by Washington. The result was on display Thursday on a rural highway in the far-southern Mexican city of Frontera Hidalgo, just across the river border between Mexico and Guatemala that the hundreds of migrants, mostly Hondurans, crossed before dawn. The migrants walked for hours before stopping at the crossroads where Vázquez’s stand lies, taking advantage of...

Never before has a boon to public health been met with such hysteria and ingratitude. Vaping is almost all upside in comparison with traditional smoking, a wanton destroyer of health and lives, and yet the nation is in the grip of a panic about e-cigarettes. In a rarity for the Trump era, the anti-vaping sentiment jumps traditional geographic and political bounds, running from the Oval Office to San Francisco, from President Donald Trump to his most fervent enemies. Trump announced a Food and Drug Administration ban on flavored e-cigarettes last week, while not too long ago the San Francisco Board...

The John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer has been renamed The Astounding Award for Best New Writer. The award, which is sponsored by Dell Magazines and administered by the World Science Fiction Society, was named for the editor of Astounding Science Fiction (later Analog Science Fiction and Fact). Current Analog editor Trevor Quachri said, Campbell’s provocative editorials and opinions on race, slavery, and other matters often reflected positions that went beyond just the mores of his time and are today at odds with modern values, including those held by the award’s many nominees, winners, and supporters. As we...

Police and emergency personnel late Sunday responded to reports of a shooting involving multiple victims at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Ambulance crews were told 11 people were down in an active shooter incident at Gilroy's Christmas Hill Park. One witness told NBC Bay Area he was on his way out when felt a bullet pass by his head, and when he turned around, he saw everyone running.

The age-old parking enforcement practice of tire-chalking is unconstitutional, a federal appeals court ruled Monday, saying it violated the Fourth Amendment’s bar on unreasonable searches. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, in a first-of-its-kind decision, ruled that marking a car’s tires to gather information is a form of trespass requiring a warrant, similar to police attaching a GPS to a vehicle to track a suspected drug dealer.

Gov. Gavin Newsom is putting a moratorium on the death penalty in California, sparing the lives of more than 700 death-row inmates. Newsom plans to sign an executive order Wednesday morning granting reprieves to all 737 Californians awaiting executions – a quarter of the country’s death row inmates. His action comes three years after California voters rejected an initiative to end the death penalty, instead passing a measure to speed up executions. Newsom says the death penalty system has discriminated against mentally ill defendants and people of color. It has not made the state safer and has wasted billions of...

Many of you have asked if we will be brewing a fundraiser beer to support Camp Fire relief efforts. The answer is a resounding “yes.” We are proud to announce the upcoming release of Resilience Butte County Proud IPA. We will be brewing Resilience on Giving Tuesday, November 27 and donating 100 percent of the beer sales to the Camp Fire Relief Fund. Looney Governor Jerry Brown blamed the rash of apocalyptic-level forest fires on Global Warming deniers. His nonsensical and rash comments will not be missed. Many will remember him for endangering Californians by ignoring the infrastructure needs of the state. Oroville Dam’s maintenance had been slipshod since its completion in 1968. Flakey inspections by state agencies risked the lives of hundreds of thousands of North State dwellers during the heavy rains and spillway collapse in February 2017. The failure will cost taxpayers more than $1 billion to repair. No one has estimated the hundreds of millions it cost 180,000 people to...

By Brian Prowse-Gany and Joyzel Acevedo On Nov. 8, 2016, Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States — and Brandon Straka, a gay man and artist living in New York City, posted a video of his reaction to Facebook. “I was devastated. I voted for Hillary, and I was one of those people who was going on social media, crying, making videos,” says Straka. Almost two years later, Straka posted another video that has since gone viral and spawned a movement. “I became a liberal because I am against racism, I’m against judging people based...

So an awkward question: NGOs in Mexico are handing out flyers and pamphlets to those who are heading towards the United States with instructions on how to surrender to authorities and claim asylum. First and foremost; are there any organizations like La Raza doing this, and in doing so (suggesting to claim asylum outside of an official port of entry) aren't they creating the population they're being paid to care for (unaccompanied minors and children of those who have been incarcerated for criminal border crossing)? How many big Democrat donors (Soros) are funding instructions directly creating the crisis they are...

The Chief of the University of Nevada, Reno Police Dept. -- where Colin Kaepernick went to school -- is apologizing for an officer who mocked the QB at a Halloween party. The officer in hot water is Antonio Gutierrez -- who wore a Kaepernick jersey with a "Will stand for food" sign ... while sporting an afro wig and a fake nose in an effort to make fun of the QB. But the UNR PD ain't laughing ... Chief Adam Garcia issued a statement condemning Gutierrez saying, "For those who have seen the Halloween costume of one of our officers...
