You can certainly look at it that way. I'm sure the Democrats are happy even if they didn't have a hand in it. Maybe it was a test. In which case, IMHO, the Republicans have failed.

You know actually the Republicans are the only party that has ever granted amnesty and the same group appears to be headed down the same path again. Would it not surprise you if they did?? Would it not surprise you if they did, didn't control the border, yet again, and at 2020, yet again, we have another twelve million plus eight million more illegal immigrants to deal with?

Do you remember how many actual illegal aliens were granted citizenship back in the late 80's? It was over twice the number they said were here illegally. How many do you think would be granted citizenship now? 20 million?

Whether this is a big liberal plot is a mute point because we all know it's not. Like it or not it's actually turned into a Republican plot. The Republicans have had control of the House and Senate for many years and could have fixed this problem as far back as 1995. Now we have a majority of Republicans and a Republican president that doesn't seem to give a care what the people think.

I had thoughts of simply blowing this off and not replying but it would not serve you or anybody else here in this forum if I simply kept to myself. You need to hear what I'm going to say regarding the failure of our "two-party" system of governance. You can bury your head in the sand, hold up your hand and tell me to speak to it or whatever you want but I'm going to say what I have to say.

Our system of two parties is quickly on its way out as it should be. It is ridiculous to think that one or the other of two national groups extoll all the virtues that one wishes in its government in one neat little package. It's worked for a while, you gotta give it that, but it's coming to an end with the failure, first, of the Democratic National Committee and second and last with the Republican National Committee. The stranglehold both parties have enjoyed over our entire government will end and there's no better time than now and no better place than here at FreeRepublic.com.

We are all free as is Gods will but we are not all created equally (except in Gods eye). There are divisions and there's more than two. So you have two parties (DNC and RNC) that in many peoples eyes are becoming one because they are both falling apart with the Democrats leftists moving to the Libertarian Party and the Republicans conservatives moving to the Constitution Party. Like it or not that is what's happening and at the end of the day you will be left with a "Redemopublicrat" minor party that can't make up it's mind what it stands for. Does that sound familiar to you??? It should because it's already happening.

Is it in your and your countries best interest to stick with the Republican party and try to fix it? In case you haven't noticed it's obviously broken and the clearest dividing line so far is on the topic of immigration. Half of the RNC Senators cared of the peoples wishes and voted for the people/against amnesty and over half of the same Senate party members voted against the people/for amnesty. A divided nation will fall, what makes you think the RNC will not? There are also those that believe abortion should be legal along with other splitting points. On the other hand, should you realize that only the insane ones kick a dead horse or repeat the same procedure over and over again hoping for a different outcome? (Please President Bush listen to me/us. Are you listening??? Didn't think so.)

I believe those sticking with RNC to try and "fix" it are loyal, trustworthy and faithful people. I wish them the best of luck and Gods speed. My hat's off to them. Maybe they are better people than me and, then again, maybe not.

You have to admit that it takes some guts to walk away from a group you once cherished so greatly and throw all your support into a group that you know right now, at this very instant, supports and defends all that you cherish about this country (virtues the RNC is losing).

Hang on to your dead horse folks. Just remember that if you gut it quick enough you may have some good meat. Otherwise you will spend your days with a rotting corpse.

From what I've been able to gather there are many people on FreeRepublic.com that are willing to vote outside of the Republican party. I can only guess that they will vote for the Constitutition Party and not Libertarian. lol

I welcome all responses especially those that don't involve name calling, deriding, etc. Do you want a stronger America or simply upset people?

In case you haven't noticed Bush is the head of the GOP. How easy would it have been for the Senate to shoot the amnesty bill down in flames if the President had stood by We The People that put him in office and said "no amnesty?"

Oh, wait, he did... it's "earned citizenship" now... it's not amnesty for cripes sake. The Republicans wouldn't ever... oh wait they're the only ones that ever have.

I donated to Vitter today and sent Landrieu a nasty message. The American citizens in the Senate need a bigtime wake-up call. Let's start recalls on all that voted for amnesty. How do we start?

Thank your dad for me, please, Spectre.

God please bless Spectre's dad and all the other veterans. Please give them solace that this great country will be saved from the likes of wretched politicians. We the people will not sit idly by and watch this invasion by Mexico while our cowards in Congress seek to appease them. (Love the people, hate the Congress) God please bless all those that have given so much of themselves to protect this great country and afford us the freedoms we take for granted. Lord please give peace to all our Founding Fathers that their great Republic will not be trampled on.

    Amen.

Gentlemen and ladies the time to act is now. Get involved with your local leaders and stear them toward God and the Republic for which it stands. Make them walk the line. Do not squander this opportunity to straighten out our country or there will be no country for your children to give to their children.

If our liberties are to prevail much beyond this generation, it will only be because the patriots who are left are able to put aside their petty differences and work together for the restoration of our constitutional republic! Long live the Constitution!

Agreed and if he's impeached... so be it. I fail to say I want him to be impeached for fear of being kicked off of Free Republic... again. So here's to President Bush NOT being impeached for treason because obviously he's NOT GUILTY of treason.

Honestly, the Republican National Committee is a broken house thanks to GW. Senator Vitter, whom I'm very proud of, stood up on the Senate floor and spoke out against amnesty and guest-workers and tried to get people to climb in his life raft.

There are obviously plenty Rhinos in our ranks. They usually are the ones that see "put America first" as "to h_ll with the rest of the world." Hmm come to think of it "to h_ll with Iran" sounds good to me! Oh, but wait, if we say "put America first" that means "damn Australia, England, Italy and Israel" as well. Gosh, we better not put America first lest the whole world sets out forces to invade America! Come on people.

Please tell me honestly how many of you like the United Nations as a whole or even some members of NATO?

I guess you folks that don't like what Pat said will not like this one either...
